Very sadly my favourite author has died today, at home, in his sleep.
Hopefully DEATH will send him back but otherwise, rest well sir Terry.

I am very sad at his passing too, I have meet him on a couple of occasions at book signings and he seemed a very nice man, as well as a great author. This piece by Neil Gaiman, I think I have posted it before, seems appropriate. www.theguardian.com/books/2014/sep/24/terry-pratchett-angry-not-jolly-neil-gaiman“What can the harvest hope for, if not for the care of the Reaper Man?” ― Terry Pratchett, Reaper Man

He was nice enough that when I went to a signing he stayed for well over an hour after he was due to leave to make sure everyone in the store got their books signed. He was in so much pain he had to stop every three or four people to put in hand in a bucket of water, but he still carried on with a smile on his face.

I guess that effectively ends his concerns about the health problem he had (I forget what it was but I recall him philosophizing about whether to suffer through or pull the plug when he felt the time was right)
I think everybody should get to die in their sleep. it seems the least painful way to go.

He was in so much pain he had to stop every three or four people to put in hand in a bucket of water, but he still carried on with a smile on his face. I remember going to meet him here in Sydney when his 25th Dyscworld novel The Truth came out. A friend of mine, her partner & I were supposed to go to get some books signed by him, she was due to have her first child a few days after the signing. But she went into labour the night before the signing so I had to go with out them to get the books signed. There was a limit of two books per person, but I explained to Sir Terry what had happened & why I had so many books. I though I would be rejected but he just laughed & jokingly said "Haven't You Lot Ever Heard Of Planed Parenting?" I retorted equally jokily "Well It's not MY fault the little Bug-ger can't follow a schedule!" He just laughed even louder & then signed all the books, he then took a copy of his new book (The Truth) off the shelf, signed it just for the baby & said "Here's a present for the baby I hope she turns out to be a great reader." & gave it to me to give to her along with his best wishes & congratulations for the new parents.

Neither am I, I am on my second run through.....
Although, the first was just a practice run?
(I died one time after getting punted off my Bike by some ignorant "SMIDSY" rollerskate driver despite full beam and reflective clothing...)
