here school zones are taken seriously. as in, if you get caught speeding there, you are not only speeding, but you are also speeding in a school zone. but there is still the point that you have to be doing it in such a way as to attract the officer's attention, and 25.5 is not all that likely to get you pulled over unless you are blasting through a busy crosswalk.
"Being an arse" in a school zone over here is offensive, blasting through one at 40 will get you a ticket, but doing 30 through one, not bat an eyelid if the road is clear enough to do so?.
If the road is double parked with kids all over the place climbing trees jumping barriers looking like someone shaved a monkey and stuffed it in a school blazer, good luck getting anywhere near 20mph anyway?.. it is as stated, "Self Regulating".
Your more liable to get a ticket, in sheer numbers handed out, for parking on the double-yellow and zig-zag "Do not park in front of school gates" (and 20yard either side of) zones or parking ON the crossing....
Yeah, some school mums are that selfish they have to get right to the gate.
Then whine like a dry back axle when they are told how stupidly dangerous that is.
And then there is the bit that at 2am, who the hell is taking their kid to school?.
This has always been the objection to school zone speed limits...
They are there on Holidays, weekends, total school shutdowns, and at night...
Why?.
We accept that during the school holidays there will be kids using the school....
But what about everywhere else "in town" where you get infestations of kids during holidays?... should we just blanket speed ban all towns "just in case"?... should we just ban cars everywhere?... in some places, it looks like they are trying just that.
Or should we just get on and teach all kids road safety.
From a VERY early age.
You know, like in the early days of mankind when the first lesson was stay away from the wolves and tigers.....
And just how the hell did we get to this on a subject of Adam and Jamie?.
Topic Drift....
