I only got about three months. there was just too much damage, because he'd delayed going in until it was too late. Damn. You have my sympathies. It was a close run thing. At the end, they were no longer talking about months or weeks; it was down to days or hours. He got lucky. The nice thing is that he's aware of how lucky he was, and is a better person for it. yeah, the lesson gained from my friend is "don't ignore the less severe symptoms of a heart attack"

you have just raised a question: is it possible for a person with a non-functional immune system to be allergic to anything? as for requiring a germ free environment; why? they didn't do the transfer in a germ free environment in the show. they did it outdoors. Good point on the allergies. I thought allergies were caused by an overactive immune system, not a missing one. Just a quick glance through Wiki points to something called "aplastic anemia" which I think might have been what she was supposed to have in the show--I seem to recall "aplastic" being in the dialogue, but I don't have a transcript. It says that fungal and bacterial infections are an issue. I think that's why they feared fungal spores in ordinary air. As for the transfer, the honey's "antibacterial and antifungal" attributes supposedly would save her. Here's a simple test for the show: Get some petri dishes with active bacterial and fungal colonies, drop honey on them, and see what happens. Not necessarily great TV, but it might answer if honey is a magical antibiotic or not. When she was xfered from the bio suite to the honey, someone there rubbed some sticks together* with a fan or something like that to create a negatively charged atmosphere around her that would protect her from getting anything on her skin. So, for the plot of the story anyway, she WAS sterile when getting into the honey. *I'm taking some liberties with my description as I don't remember exactly what it was, but it was something like shoes on a rug or similarly absurd...

Maybe I am not feeling that speedy today, but what dat dere den?.. ? xfered ?....? transferred. Right... [if you say so then?...] This may be the first time I seen that, how the hell did someone get that as an abbreviation?.. and why the hell is the word abbreviation so long in the first place?.. the word meaning to shorten a word is longer than the word your shortening?.. what crazy person was left in charge of the language?.

so: you can make a mortar by dropping a shorted lithium ion battery pack into it, and dropping your projectile loosely into the top.
you can do breakstep bridge on a tree. (to cause fruit to fall from it)

Can you electrify a jungle floor to stun killer spiders using a generator output?

Can you electrify a jungle floor to stun killer spiders using a generator output? Wont that also kill anything at all that touches the forest floor?... I am also wondering just how a tree would respond to being electrified... or any other delicate plants....

They were on Rocks.
Another extremely far fetched aspect of the show, was that rubbing flowers and doing a 'mating dance' will attract a small primate. I will admit, it was one of the funnier parts of the show, but no way it's in any way realistic.

Hate to say it, but on the evidence supplied here, this is making that show look more light entertainment and humour than serious sci-fi?..

I don't think it's a SciFi show at all, more of a light action adventure like the Ateam or Macgyver.

I believe that is how I reviewed it when I first discovered it a year or so ago, yes. allegedly it is based on the life of a real super genius, and IS produced by same.

I think that it started out trying to be more strict on it's science (although there was some reaching even back then) and as the show went on, it's become harder to come up with ideas that'll prove problematic for a team of geniuses. I do like that they keep it campy though, and overall enjoy it.
