This episode just aired on Discovery UK and, apart from the issues already raised, no-one seems to have noticed that the main reason that the first car failed was the loss of the front right wheel shortly after the 'berm'. It was this that caused the loss of control and the crash and burn. Had the 'berm' been a rise in the road, as is sometimes seen on long straight undulating desert roads, and there had been less weight added to the front bumper then some 'flight' might have been witnessed.
All in all, I think that they were too eager to call it 'Busted' but, like them, I'm getting tired of that particular myth and, unless someone can find any actual evidence that it really happened, I'm prepared to let it go.
On the subject of kinesthesia causing a lack of proper control; while both vehicles were traveling in the same general direction, the minute adjustments to each vehicles' paths were not in synchrony and Adam's inner ear would be contradicting his visual sense even if his peripheral vision had been blinkered.
