one of the voice actors for the movie Spider Man Into The Spider Verse has offered to call with encouraging voice messages for kids.
he already has thousands of requests, so it might take him a while to get to any given kid.

They going to check each one? That could take a while.

They going to check each one? That could take a while. I've already made the comment about rotating stock for freshness.

Here is an interesting DIY from a German TV Series: All you need is a coffee filter for a thermos, the proper coffee filter papers and old underpants (rubber band).

My diy mask is an old CPAP mask, with a HEPA filter from the air vent of the machine over the inlet pipe.

I had to try it. I own exactly the same filter.
It is as genius as it looks stupid! When you inhale, the suction makes the filter paper tightly hugging your face so you breath through the filter. When you exhale, the filter moves back a bit and and the air escapes around your face (OK, mostly into your eyes). So it is a valve action filter mask, similar to military gas masks!

My diy mask is an old CPAP mask, with a HEPA filter from the air vent of the machine over the inlet pipe. The problem with DIY masks is that a virus is way too small to be really filtered out. You need real expensive biological rated filter cartridges, the €40 kind which lasts around 3..5 hours until spent. So a common mask doesn't really protect you from the virus but it makes it harder for YOU to spread the virus. So wearing a mask helps all other people around you more than it would help you!

The virus is often carried on water droplets from when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The common mask will often catch these droplets and keep you from inhaling them. While the virus can still get through the mask, it can greatly reduces your exposure. That's why you should wash your hands immediately after removing the mask and either dispose of the mask or disinfect it for later use.

Correct, but the drops hitting your mask will eventually dry and then you still breath in the virus. the drops you produce will get stuck in your mask so the virus can't spread far into the environment. So wearing a mask ist still a very good thing - just not that good for you than you think it would, it just helps other people a lot.

the latest American thing is people using social media to coordinate lending RVs to medical professionals so they can quarantine separately from their families. Shows that if we just help one another out, we're going to get through this. On a similar note, a couple of days ago I found a note taped to my front door. It read; if you need someone to go to the store for you, or need help in anyway, please call one of us. We’re here to help. It then had a list of about 10 people in the neighborhood and their phone numbers.
