M5 and M7 are both located on side streets surrounded by other businesses. Parking in both locations is either in front of the respective businesses or towards the end of the road. There simply isn't anywhere they could park two, let along five, cars for any length of time without it affecting parking for the staff and customers of everyone at both locations. I guess the other option would be the runway at alameda - but then they would have to acquire loaners instead of simply sticking the thermometers in their own personal vehicles. but how do they and the film crew get to work if they have no parking?

There is a Yellow Cab depot at the end of the road from M5. They might be able to kill two birds with one stone depending on their relationship with their neighbors. There is more than likely a few cabs that are out of service and they have a large lot.
If they could work a deal to use a couple of broken down cabs and a corner of the lot to set up it would keep things close to home.

I know some cab companies try to keep their cars in service all the time; but if that one doesn't...

If not, then whenever either team will be spending a day on location throw a duffel bag with the temperature sensors in the truck and run the temperature test while the day's filming is going on.

[/quote] well, yeah, that was what I was saying they should do. just have the sensors in their personal vehicles and log the data. but that would be dependent on being able to park their cars with the windows rolled down for at least some of the tests. of course, they could do the windows down tests on location, where it would be more secure. mind, this is for the supporting data, rather than the tests shown on-camera. they could also test those windshield screens that were popular in the 80s.
