I am liking the new format. The return to the science and to the build/thought process is something I have wanted for years. I'm just sad that all of that came at the expense of K/G/T. That said, as TLW said, the slower pace and elimination of the short editing is very pleasing and I think though they are doing fewer tests per episode, they are teaching more than they have in the past years. Thumbs up to the new style. I'm not sure there are fewer tests - they tested 4 elements in the indiana jones episode.

Who me?.. the one who can spend a whole day getting bracketing right for a HD photograph, then spend another day in post production in potatoshop, all for a photograph that takes seconds to take?...
But its time spent inside working on material already shot. Stuff you already know you have. In filming, thats one or two editors, not a whole outside broadcasting unit with cast... Plus, someone is already doing stuff for "tinternet", why cant that be put on TV. Not all of us have that need to watch internet shows.
It would take me but a few seconds to go find internet "Un-aired sections" of the show... Try googling "Do pretty girls fart" .... maybe too rude for TV.?.. Or just plain sexist. But please DO ask......

Well, I watched the Simpsons Myth show. I noticed the Cartoon physics comment. Maybe Homer could prevent to wrecking ball from damaging the house, but it would also kill him. I'm not so sure how the new season is going to go and how interested I'm going to be.

Just watched the A-Team episode. After watching the 3 new episodes, I have to admit, I like the new format MUCH better. The results of the log cannon was a little disappointing, but it was what it was.

I notice Adam made a point of commenting on how well he and Jamie work together. - I wonder if the "Adam and Jamie hate each other" myth is being batted around again.

I hope they don't do the live tweeting too often, Adam asked if they wanted him to do more of it. Some said yes, some said no but it's really not fair to the rest of the country to live tweet when you only do East coast. Yes, I'm calling it, East coast bias.

I replied to him asking if he could do a live tweet for the West Coast.

In UK (and most of europe) there is only one broadcast time for each channel. The idea that anything we see is an hour or two different in the next country is not in our consciousness?...

We are not used to the idea of living in a country that covers several time zones - five in North America (Four between NY and LA with Alaska in its own zone) and I think another zone for Hawaii.
If you look at the adverts/posters for US shows they tend to show at least two air times, usually those are East and West Coast viewings.

So far, I'm liking the new format. Though, I am left wondering one thing: Is every episode this season going to be themed after a movie or TV show? I think 5 out of the 6 episodes in this run will be, but that they will have more 'traditional' episodes later in the year. The former is going off the episode titles for this run, the latter is via the Bothan. I have no further information on the later episodes before anyone asks. So even if TV/Film episodes don't quite do it for you stick with things, as we will be getting 'real' myths later on. And no, I don't have any idea when those later episodes will air either. From what I can tell, and not just from TC, overall reception to the new format has been positive. Heck, three episodes in and I don't think I've seen a single 'you did it wrong' comment. Which is a first. Nothing MB can do about what episodes are being aired or in what order as those are decisions made by Discovery. Humm. Just wondering if they might have opted to put all the TV/Film episodes together at the start of the year, so they can air the more 'serious' episodes later on and at, what I'm guessing, would be the same time we'd really start to see any major changes being made to Discovery's line up under its new management.

We are not used to the idea of living in a country that covers several time zones - five in North America (Four between NY and LA with Alaska in its own zone) and I think another zone for Hawaii. If you look at the adverts/posters for US shows they tend to show at least two air times, usually those are East and West Coast viewings. Because the US goes across time zones, broadcasters have something of an issue because of how things play out. For example, a raunchy comedy movie set to play at 11 PM Eastern (when most minors would be in bed and so the FCC would allow for a relaxed rules set) would air at 10 PM Central (when a lot of stations are showing the nightly news), 9 PM Mountain (the tail end of prime time, when some family viewing still goes on), 8 PM Pacific ( definitely prime-time) and 7 PM Hawaii (ditto). As a result, most broadcasters tape-delay content. Shows airing in the Eastern and Central time zones broadcast live, while shows airing further west are delayed. In some instances, this works for the best. For example, Saturday Night Live's tape delay gives the editors a chance to excise skits that didn't go over well or ran too long and replace them with other skits from the evening's dress rehearsal. This way, if something goes wrong (like when Sinead O'Connor destroyed an image of Pope John Paul II as a live protest), the damage is contained to only two time zones and can be deleted from airing elsewhere. In other instances, however, it doesn't. For example, at one point in time, Cartoon Network decided to have the air times for the Eastern and Pacific time zones be the same. This meant that the broadcasts into the Mountain time zone would be an hour later, pushing some shows either past kids' bed times or past when they would be in school. If it was continuing today (I don't know if it is), then it means that we also have some shows from the "Adult Swim" block of "mature" programming airing in a time slot that some kids could see it (5 - 6 AM).

three episodes in and I don't think I've seen a single 'you did it wrong' comment. So where would you see this 'you did it wrong' comment. Doesn't seem to be an official forum anymore. Even the "disqus" they were using is dead now - just some half finished page. www.discovery.com/tv-shows/mythbusters/show-talk/beyond-duct-tape/ is where the disqus forum used to be.

Presumably on their Facebook page, though since I don't FB that's just a guess. Overall I've liked this season. Giving each episode a theme seems to work well for them. I am wondering how well the theme system will work when they get back to testing non-media stories -- if they decide to test the Patriots' underinflated footballs, will they have to scrounge up another football myth to test with it?

End of season.... my final thoughts would be "Was that it?"
It has finished, and too quickly.
So when do we get some more?.
