I would like to have a garand in my collection. Silver may or may not recognize what I punch holes with. Attachment Deletedif the picture is too indistinct, it's an L1A1 (variant of the FN-FAL)

View Attachmentif the picture is too indistinct, it's an L1A1 (variant of the FN-FAL) From that picture?... nope. (Its been too long to recognise silhouettes) Question, is that actually a range target in your part of the world?... However.... I think he speaks of the 7.62 "SLR", self loading rifle, and yes, I have punched a few holes with that myself at times.

Watched the show if full last night.
From the first, and I mean RIGHT from understanding what it was to be, I wondered at why the woman had not tied something around the grenade. I didnt see any point to the testing, because who wouldnt have thought of that?... Seriously, I have to ask, is there people out there dumb enough to NOT think of that?...
Also, Driving on rims happens when the tyres destroy themself. Easy enough at speed.... Low speed cornering on freshly deflated tyres?... Completely different scenario. I believe Adam having to stop and saying yes, this does make it "Undriveable", especially when all four tyres are gone.... considering that he has had extensive driver training and experience by now... we have to take note of that.
The golf thing?... I would have loved to see Jamie learn a little more and see if he can improve. Otherwise, yes, it does echo our own thoughts on the thread we opened, you can NOT learn everything from Video games. I claim a board success for that one.
Fast reload. I think that depends on the training.... If you are trained to fast reload, you will learn. Can everyone do that?... Nope. Not me either. I dont have the wish to do things like that, and it has been too long to remember those things... Its a training that changes, the 7.52 if out of service for all the wrong reasons, and the .303 isnt a fast firing thing anyway. My own preference of .22 Martina is anything BUT fast.... Its a target thing, accuracy is everything, you dont get a high 90's (from possible 100 of every one in the 10 ring) by doing things fast.
Spray and pray is not my style.....
PS, "The mad minute", 15 rounds at 200 yds, an old Brit tradition?... I heard of it, I was never ever going to try that. It wasnt just shoot them AT the target, it was get them in the right place as well.... All within 60 seconds.
If you can do that, at that accuracy, you are "legend"...

The one above was built in 1943 by Springfield. Was the first one I purchased in 1986 from the U.S. department of civilian marksmanship for the hefty some of $125. Tis worth a bit more today. You are more than welcome to join me someday. We can punch holes together. I'd love to, but I think buying one would be less expensive than flying to the States for a day at the range Just checked the cheapest ticket prices I could find and just getting me on a flight from Copenhagen to Atlanta or Orlando will cost me $1,000. If we ever get the money saved up to make the trip, though, I'll be sure to take you up on that offer

Maybe look at flying from the UK instead. A single adult return fight from London to Miami on British Airways will cost between £300-440 depending on the day you want to fly. That is over £200 less than the figure you quoted at the most expensive figure.(And BA isn't the cheapest airline around)

All I am getting is a silhouette here, you claimed it wasnt that good, "Indistinct", I dont see much and havnt the time to try cleaning it, so I just asked, is it a picture, or is it a picture of maybe a range target... I have seen sort of similar as Posters for "the bad guy" on ranges?... I just tried a simple colour correction, its an actual photograph then, its very dark, I cant get the gama saturation or contrast to do anything, not even in b/w.

I have another even less distinct picture of it. Attachment Deletedthere have been a few modifications made since then, like adding a muzzle brake/not-flash-suppressor.

I got to watch this one today. I found myself feeling the joy Adam felt while making the road tacks, making the show changes they made this year a bit more palatable. I found myself laughing at them trying to play golf - I was one of the people Adam thought might be yelling at the TV about their form LOL.
My jaw dropped watching the professional shooter empty his clip and reload. Without the high-speed, I'd never be able to tell what he did. Just amazing.
Overall, I was glad this wasn't about a particular TV show or movie and got back to testing actual myths, which I think made it much more entertaining.
