So dont believe anything you read on the internet, especially when the same site argues with its self.

But is the bore hole truth or fiction. Or even Friction to disguise the truth.
And I am prepared to disbelieve the supernatural ending of giant flame bats rising from the hole, but believe the legitimate boring of a hole deep down just to see whats there....

The Kola bore hole is as far as I know real, we knew of it back when I studied Geology in the pre internet days, we could not see any data from it as it was also still the Soviet era so they were not sharing anything detailed from it. They did however put enough information about it out to 'prove' this was an area of Soviet science that was better than the West, .....wasn't the Cold War fun!!!

It has only go down through Contiental crust, and so has not broken through anywhere that would give rise to magma so no gouts of flames, it would not happen unless they borred so close to a Volcano they hit a magma chamber which they did not. The area they chose to drill in was a shield, a tectonically stable area of rock .
