for stuff that may contain spoilers, see the myth thread in the movie myths forum.
my immediate summary of San Andreas is "the backdraft of disaster films"
it is spectacular, immersive, and suspenseful, but as the technical advisor said, "I gave them a lot of advice, and they took a little bit of it"
I was doubly entertained between watching the adventure and picking out all the mythbuster fodder.
the basic premise of the movie is that the san andreas fault goes full on bonkers, and a LAFD rescue pilot goes on a solo mission to rescue his family. plot holes and technical errors abound, but it is still an entertaining, if only minimally believable, show. definitely not oscar bait, and while I forget the rating, I would not worry too much about teenagers watching it, possibly younger if minimally graphic imagery of people getting hurt doesn't distress them. when I think about it, I can't recall whether there was much in the way of language not acceptable at the citadel, and I don't recall any nudity at all.

I agree.
This - like a lot of other action films - works best if you simply turn off your brain before going in and just let the film play out.

Trying to remain impartial, but as there has been a thread about it in myts, I went a looking for something, and had a mild interest...
I heard little of this film before recently, but "another sharknado2" type disaster films the sky is falling and some hero goes on a one-man mission "to save his world"...
Almost on the same line, I also hear, have they run out of ideas.
"It will quickly get to the remainders bin".... ohh snarky.... someone there didnt rate it at all.
I am struggling to pick this one up from my own inane sense of humour of how it fits as "batting practise" for my own cynical way of "This isnt that good a film" .....
Rotten Tomatoes give it a disappointing 50%...
This from elsewhere....
Rolling stone goes further...
So not impressed then?...
My own opinion, it gets a bottom-of-the-pile of stuff to watch when there is nothing else on tv.
The best reviews I see promise a wealth of CGI.
Scale of will it draw me to a cinema...>-[]----------<

Ollie was one of the best characters, the end of the guy you don't like was, at one time, both amusing and a bit disappointing. he gets a much more enjoyable comeuppance in the blooper reel, with a creditworthy assist from an unnamed costar. I rate it above nothing-else-on-tv but below make-a-special-effort.
