Or was it/is it.
There was this thing about how the "pundits" in the last election got all the exit poles wrong on who would vote which way.... Thing is, they asked a lot of people in the majority Labour voting areas, but forgot to ask in the areas of conservative majority voters, thus, all of the poles were completely wrong.
If you go ask a lot of MTV fans what is good TV, then you only get what THEY want. If you ask the fans of one particular show what they think, you aint asking those who hate the bloody thing.

Just thought I would let Silverdragon and Cybermortis know in case they missed it and are intrested that Shannara started tonight on 5Star. I just can across it on the planner as I was scrolling through.
I will record the repeat on Saturday night, as I am out doing something else and watch it Sunday perhaps and then make my comments although Channel 5 are already making some what of a judgement themselves, they have not put it on the main Channel 5 HD channel that they own but buried it on one of their lesser channels.

I have reached the point where I hope somebody reboots it. I'm still watching, but it is reaching the point where it seems EVERY story point has been changed, and it has lost a LOT of the feel that drew me to the series.

I watched the first episode last night eventually....
Erm....
Not so sure on this. It all looks a bit "Hobbit" at the moment?..

To me it looked did look like you say a bit LOTR in the Elven city, but the rest of the 4 lands were littered with pieces post apocalyptic junk like the ship that would have rusted away years ago, if the elves could really trace their history for thousands of years.
Still will watch the another few episodes to see how it goes.

Still will watch the another few episodes to see how it goes. in the books the cataclysm left much less trace of our civilization - but the official story is the elves have always existed, just were hidden during the age of man. I have become more and more disenchanted with the adaptation as it goes on. to me it has strayed way too far off the trail.

the first episode of the second season has begun - and they are drifting even further off the original trail. Terry Brooks' name is still on it, which I find kind of odd since there is so much of his original source material that is very good.
currently I am waiting to see if he is trying to make it all happen out of order in one generation or if he has slid totally off the rails.
(it looks like this season will be the sword of shannara - despite the fact the sword of shannara was Wil's father's quest.)
I could do it so much better...
