2: can you survive skydiving in a giant inflatable hamster ball? Did anyone else notice that the rigging went through the opening in the ball and appeared to hit buster the first test? While I don't doubt he probably still would have died, the rigging was heavy metal <insert head banging emoji> and most certainly would have finished him off if he had been lucky enough to survive. Then on the 2nd test with the bubble wrap, it appeared that the ball landed on the ground opening first, meaning it would have provided absolutely no cushion whatsoever. From my perspective, both of those tests were invalid. I did not notice the rigging hitting Buster, I'll have to rewatch it & slow down that part. The bubble wrap test: What if they wrapped Buster in the bubble wrap a la Adam's bubble wrap free fall? This test was slightly silly & had completely obvious results from the get go. But, that's what you get from Reddit...slightly silly & completely obvious...

Punch your way out of a paper bag: Why did they cover him in a paper bag instead of putting him a paper bag? You know, standing on the bottom of the bag. Survive a fall in a hamster ball: Seriously?!? Nobody ever watched movie stunt specials? Adrenalin Dreams sells "high fall air mattresses" for stunts. Taking the Mythbusters estimated terminal velocity of 56mph: A 250 lb man (since the air mattress is rated for somebody up to 250 lbs) falling for 2.25 seconds will give you a final speed of 49.36 mph with no air resistance or 47.69 mph with air resistance. Falling for 2.25 seconds means you fell from a height of 81.44 ft. The air mattress rated for an 81 ft jump is...10 ft tall, not 6 inches. It's 20'x25'x10' to be exact. A 2.5 second fall puts the speed around 52 mph and the height at 100ft. That's the max height for the 20x25x10 mattress. Their smallest mattress is 10'x14'x5' and it's only rated for a 50 ft fall.

I think they were going for easy to test, and it's easier to put it over his head than to lift him into it.

Agreed. For one thing, they could've revisited "the fear sound" and done it right this time! I'm still annoyed they never picked that up, both because there were so obvious flaws in their methodology in terms of replicating the circumstances of the myth and because of what it might have meant if it turned out to be true. They could have literally become Ghostbusters for cryin' out loud! Also, considering some of the gold they've already gotten from this board (at least "ice cannon" and everything Star Wars) and the old MBFC board ("poo hits the fan" and probably others too), it really annoys me that they let reddit users come up with the myths for their final season! As you said, we could've done a lot better! I have seen discussion on sound elsewhere. In the form of "Film scores" The right music can make a picture.... If you play certain music, say the chase music from Benny Hill, over a horror movie scene, does it make it funny?... So in that, of you play horror movie film scores in an empty room, will people associate fear with that room?... Not what I had in mind, but yeah, that would have been much more interesting than what they ended up doing.
