Ah, the science of food!
And the Alton Brown live tour is also amazing and awesome. At both the book signing last year and the live tour event last night, he confirmed that GE will be returning to the interwebs later this year under the title A Cooking Show.
SQUEE!!!

Talking of good eats, my American Aunt sent me a book on Road-kill recipes. So I went out and got some fresh road kill, and tried one. It was quite good actually...
But what do you do with the the bike?

The stuff he makes on stage or his recipes from GE? either. I've developed two philosophies regarding cooking: 1: food shouldn't hurt. 2: "acquired taste" is stockholm syndrome for your mouth.

As for "acquired taste", my mouth came with enough as standard equipment to get me into trouble, why should I want to acquire more?

"But you MUST try this its fantastic"... and at that point, dear reader, TLW has exactly the same mind as me, no its not, no I wont, it will taste like tarmac, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder, its up to me to tell you what I like. And if anyone wants to know what licking tarmac tastes like, you never got knocked off a bike as a kid?. I still have a partial scar, very faint, on one side of my face, around my chin, from gravel rash, from when I was about 7 or 8?..

I ride without helmet when I am on MAMBA roads in Scottish wilderness... the wind in your hair is "something else". Saying that, its 15 yrs since I had a motorcycle licence, so that was a few years since I did that kind of thing. Chicken fried steaks, I have had many, we have a supply in our freezer because there is 4 of us that will turn to them, with half-rice-half-chips ($="Fries") as a goto quick meal when the day takes unexpected results. I will eat that, and yeah, its nice, but two burger sized steaks of no more than say half pound size total of the two steaks is about my Limit?.. I would never say I have willingly sought to tackle a whole pound, 16 ounces, of any meat in one sitting, that was timed. I have tackled a 20 oz steak as part of a full meal that was "Eat the lot and no charge" type, it had a limit of two hours, I managed to go through it in hour-and-a-quarter, but I had not eaten more than snacks for two days being an extended road trip, and was so starvingly hungry I could have eaten the proverbial cow between two bread vans?.. I would estimate the whole meal was about two pounds in weight. Its not something I would tackle again, because the previous two days were hell, and I wouldnt want to be that hungry again ever... It was supposed to be just two days, but ended up four, and out of provisions in strange territory, I just took snacks from roadside stalls?. That and for the next time I did extended road trips, I went better prepared, and made sure the sleeper cab had good working stoves or microwaves in it before I agree to do a weeks tramping.

when I was working fleetwood factory service in California. we stumbled across a restaurant that served plate sized chicken fried steaks, with another plate for the hash browns and eggs. they weren't a contest, just so good you hated to stop. chicken fried pork chops is pretty tasty, too.

Sod it, you all put me in the mood for a bacon sarnie with melted cheese and fried mushrooms. why would you ruin a perfectly good sandwich by infesting it with fungus?
