MB I think have already busted Arnold shooting out the padlocks to get through the gates. Not really. They found 12 gauge buckshot works fine. Arnold was using 10 gauge slugs (from a Winchester 1887), which might be different.

For what it's worth, the truck is a Freightliner FLA 9664.

The 1887 was designed to use black powder cartridges and was not strong enough for modern smokeless powder cartridges, so in 1901 Winchester started making the 1901 for modern smokeless powder cartridges, BUT, the 1901 was only offered in 10 Gauge, as they didnt want the 1901 competing in sales for their 12 gauge pump actions. Now, the movie may have used 10 gauge 1887 shotguns for production, with smokeless powder, but they were firing blanks, which allowed all the pressure to simply blow out of the barrel without any buildup behind a slug or shot wad, so little risk of failure of the barrel, chamber or action.

According to IMDb the gun was a 'Winchester 1887 Lever Action 10-Gauge Sawed-off Shotgun minus trigger guard'. They also seem to have modified the lever to make it easier (or possible) for the gun to be twirled around and reloaded with one hand.

Yes, as I said, that may be what they used for productions purposes, as firing blank smokeless powder loads, in a gun designed for lower pressure black powder loads, would be no problem. However, if it were real life, the T2 would have to of been using a Model 1901, to fire the smokeless powder shells.

Which is the correct answer for what the database does. List/identify guns used in movies. While that was the weapon used in the movie, if the events in T2 happened in real life, not the movie world, the gun would have to be a 1901 to fire the modern smokeless powder cartridges. Since it was in the movie world, a 1887 firing blanks worked just fine.
