My smaller electric pin gun may have the velocity of say a .22 air rifle, but only VERY short distance.
The larger air powered thing, god only knows, I wouldnt like to stand in front of it, as it can chuck up to 3mm wide nails into concrete?... I think that is a "Framing gun" in U$A terminology, one that would "Stick" a house frame to a concrete foundation thing?... here, its just a BIG nail gun.
The bigger ones with explosive caps can chuck bolts into reinforced concrete, but, I dont ever want one of them.
In England, a lot of the world, including U£A, are a bit surprised at the fact we dont over-use nail guns.
We find that its a LOT easier to tote a hammer and pocket full of nails over the site rather than a honking great heavy gun.
Plus, with the experienced guys, they can put in more nails per hour more accurately than a nail gun can?...
As in, you have to stop and re-load every so often, recharge the power source etc....
You get a nice rhythm up with a hammer.
But they have their uses.... when it gets to banging noggins in a frame, the chop saw and nail gun do save a lot of time.
My little pin hammer nail gun, when you are sticking a back to a cupboard, is priceless in putting pins in.
