a proper waitress should be built a bit like Flo from the progressive commercials, have a beehive hairdo, unfashionable (or rather, fashionable about a decade ago) glasses, and call everyone "hon" regardless of age, gender, or social class.

I don't know, 'Tip O Meter' + boob size could mean: 1) Does boob size effect mobility or balance? 2) Does boob size effect a waitresses tips? If they're testing a myth about does a woman's boob size have an effect on her mobility or balance, then it'll be a Busted result. 'Natural growth rates' mean women have a chance to 'gradually adjust' to the shifts in weigh/gravity caused by their boobs. Even if you've had a boob increases/reduction your inner ear would help you to adjust fairly quickly. I'd say it's more plausible that they'd be testing the myth Does boob size effect a waitresses tips? But I think it'd only be plausible for Men & lesbians/bi women to tip for big boobs. For me it'd be if you show too much cleavage/boob then your tip will drop. I don't want a woman flashing me as she's taking my order. Personally if your serving me I don't want to see what you have in your bra. I'm not interested & I don't care how big you are. All I care about is A) Is your service any good? & B) Are you presentable? ie: you're clean, neat & tidy. Bomb those things & your tip will be the bear minimum - impress me with your service & tidiness you'll be tipped accordingly. As for the body's ability to 'gradually adjust' as a female develops, this can be assumed to be true for women with natural attributes. What about women who are artificially enhanced & intentionally excessively top heavy? Might we see Tori playing with impants...

A proper waitress should be called helga, be squat and rather unatractive and able to carry 12 1L pints of top quality german beer

1 liter in a big glass with handle, sorry, we used to call em pint glass (even though they do hold about 2 pints) just another example of how arbitrary measurements based on obscure artifacts confuse things in the name of making the world divisible by 10.

Nah, normally we have .5L glasses, which are more or less the same size than a pint, but octoberfest has double size glasses, because..bayern.

Nah, normally we have .5L glasses, which are more or less the same size than a pint, but octoberfest has double size glasses, because..bayern. I think in some places, they simply still use pints, for that application; under the realization that you are not going to be playing around scientifically with the volume of your beer; so there is no need to be able to divide it by 10.

OTOH, the video teaser shows her running with the "Image enhancement package" on. Afraid we will just have to wait for the episode to be sure what the subject is; but there are ways that having a "topheavy" body shape can affect your agility or balance other than just disrupting your reactions; simply by making weight transfer more extreme. I guess we'll have to wait & see what happens. I just hope the guys don't put on 'padded bras' & join in - the exploding defibrillator episode with Tory bra shopping was a traumatic & disturbing experience as it was. But if the test involves a sudden alteration in bust size, like you'd get via surgery, then the guys are the best qualified to test .... While I have the misfortune of knowing someone who bases his tips solely on how hot he thinks the waitress is (a waiter gets nothing), that's not really something that can be tested scientifically. And neither is "odds of being dumped by your date for ogling the waitress".

I am reminded of an old Reader's Digest joke, which is sorta relevant to the conversation:
a producer made a documentary about the history of the bathing suit; using his teenage daughter as one of his models. the daughter was upset at the flattening action of some of the vintage suits, so he mollified her by purchasing a set of falsies for her to wear.
come tax time he couldn't bring himself to list "falsies" as an expense; and when he told his secretary his dilemma, she told him to list them as "projection equipment"

UK's Discovery channel has just started a re-run of the last series of MythBusters so I guess they're gearing up for our turn at the new series. Nope, the new season of Mythbusters will air in the summer of 2014 in the UK. {Moved thread to the Show information board - CM}

Nope, the new season of Mythbusters will air in the summer of 2014 in the UK. Which means we'll most likely see it here in Australia for our summer season which is from the start of November to the end of February. I hate how we get over looked for the cool stuff here in Australia!

If it makes you feel any better Lex, I think both the UK and Australia have already been blessed with an episode of Mythbusters a year or so back that will not be aired on US TV until this upcoming season.

Really? Which one would that be? that's the boarding a plane one. Light is correct, it was indeed the myth about boarding a plane that can be glimpsed in the sneak peek video. This episode was broadcast in Australia and the UK between September and October 2012. But will only be broadcast in the US on 25th January 2014, even though it was included in the sneak peek video for the early 2013 season - Adam even mentioned it as one of his favourite episodes when they were promoting the show back then. Discovery have posted a list of upcoming episodes, some of which you might recognise from TC; Star Wars Special Moon Shiner myths (11 Jan) Hollywood car crash Cliches (18 Jan) Plane Boarding/Bite the Bullet (25 Jan) {Note; Bite the bullet is about making bullets from teeth) Car Chase Chaos/Animal Antics (1st Feb) {Note; The animal antics myth is about ways to deter animals and has nothing to do with the animal myths thread posted on TC) Laws of Attraction (15 Feb) Do try this at Home (22 Feb) {Not posted as an idea on TC, but it has been brought up multiple times on Discovery and the 'Young Scientists Corner' was based on this idea} Supersonic Ping Pong/Ice Cannon (1st March) {Both were posted on TC} dsc.discovery.com/tv-shows/mythbusters/2014-episodes.htm
