Even better, they just added a show in Omaha!
(Though I think whoever does their routing needs a geography refresher -- Omaha to Sioux City to Kansas City?)

From the tour-blogging Adam's done, most of their travel is by bus. Though it looks like they're getting a day off before the Omaha show, maybe they are flying in.

There's a lot of grayed-out seats on the Orpheum map -- I don't know if tickets are selling that fast, or if there's blocks being held back for some reason.
However, I got one of the VIP tickets!

Cool beans, Antigone!
I just tried to buy VIP tickets but they are all sold out.
I am taking a risk and asking around if I could still manage to get a dvd signed anyway, but I kind of doubt it.
Maybe, if I see you there, you could get my dvd signed? (I hate to suggest something that could make a stir, but if it's alright, what the heck?)

Looking at the website, it's not clear whether J&A will be signing anything -- the autographed pictures are pre-signed.

Yeah, that makes sense. I was using Bruce Crawford's movie event that he does over at the Josyln theater as a measuring stick where he has his invited film stars do a signing after the movie. They'll sign just about anything, but, even though it seems like a long line (the entire audience afterward), the whole house only seats somewhere around 800. And, the guest artist only has to go through that ordeal the one time. This show here is just about every day as it wanders through the world!! And I am sure the Orpheum is much, much larger and even the V.I.P section would probably be long enough for even just handing out pre-signed photos.

I have twice attended book signings by Terry Pratchett. The first was in the afternoon, and he'd done a book signing earlier in the day in another city.
There must have been at least two or three hundred people there, and much to his credit rather than just do the hour he was scheduled for he stayed around to make sure that everyone who'd turned up got their book(s) autographed personally (They locked the doors at the end of the scheduled hour). This took over two hours - and I wasn't near the back of the line - by which point his hand had cramped up so badly he not only had to wear a wrist support and write with a felt-tip pen. But he had to keep stopping to put his hand in a bucket of warm water to ease the pain.
Now imagine trying to sign 800+ autographs every other day for several weeks...You'd be incapable of holding a pen, let alone signing anything, after the first week. You can see why people sign pictures and books in advance.

Just looked at Sioux City on the 10th. There was one, last third-row ticket still available that offers the meet and greet, but with the car needing new tie rods and the price for any tickets paid now putting a pinch on that, guess the idea of going at all is out (even for local, Omaha back row tickets at this point). Besides it's about a two hour drive up to Sioux City (hour and a half plus) on what would be a 'school night'. So, it looks like once again I miss an opportunity to say hi in person. It's been like 6 years anyway. I'm sure any input I had on the outcome of a show is long in the distant past at this point. If I hadn't been up to my eyeballs in spring finals at school, I'd have seen the Omaha V.I.P tickets about the time they were available. Darn the luck!

Unless you're able to slip a note to the ushers to work something out at intermission....
