If you want to discuss possible grenade myths please start a thread in the show ideas board. Just keep in mind that if you watched the aftershow you'll realize that they are VERY unlikely to want to work with more than a single live grenade - and then under VERY controlled conditions. Even their explosives experts were wary of using grenades. And I dont bloody blame them. Grenade training that I had was along the lines of what is what and what to do with one... all using Dummies. I have never actually handled "Live" grenades... There wasnt much reason why an elec tec ground staff needed to?.... They also busted one myth right there, 30 years ago, the one where action figure is seen with a dozen or so grenades hanging off his vest... Bloody silly idea. If just one pin comes loose....... strawberry jam. Except with most grenades, to avoid that kind of thing, you have to twist the pin with considerable force before you're able to pull it, which is why the dumbest TV/movie grenade-trope there is, is the one where someone pulls the pin with his teeth. It's just not happening and trust me, neither is 'pin comes loose while grenade is hanging by it from belt/vest'. I've had smoke and phosphor grenades hanging on my belt like that. The only danger is if you're stupid enough to hold in the safety lever and twist it to get it off, and even then it's more likely that you'll have to twist the webbing on your belt/vest around until it can't go any further before the pin comes loose. There's a reason they call it a safety pin, you know. There wouldn't be much safety in it, if all you had to do to pull the pin was get it snagged on something.

Well, I actually have no idea what to say next.
The thing is, with hand to hand fighting, if someone who knew what he was doing, removed just one pin and had it away on his heels.................
Hero's in action movies that walk into a building full of stooges and hand to hand kill most of them, then toss a few grenades to "Finish the job".....
They are supposed to be up against hired mercenary hard as nails security. Ex Forces types. Not one of them can pull a pin and run?....

... I have no idea. If its a string tied to a bandalier that they have no idea which one you yanked the pin on, maybe, if its the one in their hand, the chance of them tossing it in the hood of your anorak is massive I suspect?...
How far can you run in 5 seconds?... Enough to dive in a ditch, behind a wall, or into a pool of water, possible strategy. If in the middle of a parade ground........... maybe not so good........
I suppose its more a case of getting the f out of fork before they realise what you just did.
