I have no doubt that the board will will last, although it may take on a different tone knowing that 'myths' we post will never really be tested anymore. ...unless we ourselves go to test them... well, there won't be anyone telling us not to try them at home, any more. I wonder if we can sue discovery for it going wrong, since they will no longer be telling us not to ...

I like it! Maybe pick some myth most of us agree on, and then two or three independently test it. We could then compare results.

Preferably myths that wouldn't move us any farther up on Homeland Security's watchlist... I'm a white, male, politically-conservative Mormon from Texas who has been critical of Obama since day one. They've probably already got me under constant surveillance anyway given just how Nixonian this adminsitration has been. Not much more I can do to go further up on the watch list.

Has anyone heard if 2016 will be another "split" season, with some episodes in January/February and the final batch later in the year?
Both Adam and Dan Tapster have been tweeting that filming of the final season is going on currently, and there doesn't seem to be time to get footage from late October edited into a coherent program by January.

I haven't been able to find anything, but I've taken note of Cyber's absence from this thread up to this point and am expecting we'll hear from him if he gets any wind of the schedule. Outside what's already being reported and social media updates from the crew themselves, he's probably our best bet at getting any inside info.

What I know; They were contracted for 13 episodes per year. Discovery decides on the air dates, order and number of episodes that will be aired and such information is kept to themselves until the last minute. Average post-production time seems to be six months. However they have done episodes in around four months. So if Discovery wanted to they could probably air the last season in a single block from January through to around March/April - assuming a full run of 13 episodes.
Based on the interview it seems likely they are talking about a full years worth of shows, which depending on when the start date for a full order lies would be 13 episodes. Likewise the article notes that Discovery intends to air every past episode of the show in order in the run up to the January start date. That, plus the announcement being made now and that new shows air around September/October makes me suspect that Discovery intends to air all of the last episodes at the start of the year. There would be enough time for them to actually manage this.

Maybe it's time we rethink some of our questions for them, now that they won't be doing the show anymore... Cyber? You think your Bothan might be able to hook us up after it's all over? I'm kind of thinking Jamie might not want to, but if Adam can find the time once he's done with the filming and stuff, he might. Can't hurt to ask, right?
