I saw the first episode and thought it was cool but wished Tory, Grant and Kari were there for the final explosion but maybe they couldn't make it.
Haven't watched the second episode yet.

The finale was good (especially Buster's final stand), but the reunion special was the real farewell to the show. And it was all it needed to be. A very apt and beautiful way to send the MythBusters into the halls of history as the greatest science show ever made. I still can't believe there's never going to be another epsiode...

There's that one "lost episode" they showed some clips of, but that's it. No more MythBusters. I'm not prone to getting emotional - especially not about stuff on TV - but that reunion special was actually kind of hard to watch. It's the end of an era.

The RV explosion - yes, it was way cool on the high speed.
Buster's last stand. I'm calling shenanigans - there was something in the head that went boom on impact.
memory lane: I would have put a little bit more crest on the plow, myself. might have helped clear the flat stuff and protect visibility better.
the final blast: I wasn't so pleased with the editing. a little too much of the jump cut and too little of the watch and analyze for my liking. OTOH, I think in one of the cuts I saw a wheel spinning like a top.

My daughter pointed out that the first episode was the year she was born. She seemed to really enjoy both episodes, and I enjoyed having her watch with us. Both were good. I would have liked to have seen Scottie in the reunion as well, but overall enjoyed it a lot.

I found myself smiling at the trip down memory lane. I just wish I could have seen what props were annihilated better.
The reunion special had me tearing up several times. I caught a bit of the rerun tonight and teared up again at Adam's thank you to the fans. I am so glad that KGT were invited back to be able to say goodbye, since they never had the chance before.
I have invested a lot in a few other shows, like Law and Order, but this one, perhaps because these are not characters but real people I invited into my home for over 10 years, really got me when it was done. I will always be able to watch reruns and DVDs, but I won't ever have something new to challenge my brain again.
If any of the crew are reading this, thank you for all you did to produce a fun and thought-provoking show for so many years. I have truly been spoiled.

I saw the reunion episode and I liked it.
I noticed something at the end and that Jamie was his quiet self. It was almost as if Tory, Grant, Kari and Adam were the ones doing the talking most.

Don't forget Christine, the intern from the first two seasons.

I very much enjoyed watching this watching, as bittersweet as it was.
"50,000 Frames per second": The footage on this was amazing, there was something beautiful about watching the shockwave develop in super slow-mo. Too bad we had to wait until the last episode to see footage like this.
"Buster's Super Sendoff": It was a fitting ending. Buster, essentially, disintegrated.
"Trip Down Memory Lane": There was something touching about Adam's walk through of the props (his catharsis). You can tell that he had a genuine love for everything he did on the show.
"The Biggest Explosion Ever": 5,000 and ONE pounds of C4. Wow! It's always best to go out with a bang, so might as well make it the biggest bang ever.
Yes, I did get a little misty eyed watching this. To some extent, it felt like losing family.

I'm thinking the reunion. a well formed story has the bang and then the denouement, which ties up loose ends.

I'm going to go sit in the corner wearing the pointy hat for ten minutes. I see it as the show went out with a bang, the cast went out with a discussion. (Side note: I've created a separate thread for discussing the Reunion Special as well as a thread for the "Lost Episode" - Duct Tape: The Return)

It was on last night on Science Channel (8 pm EST). It followed the two original duct tape special ("Duct Tape Special" & "Duct Tape Island"). If you have Sci on-demand with your cable/sat provider, it should be available.

They could just as well have cut that out to give the show a more light hearted feel, but it was fitting. As I said earlier, I'm not all that emotional, but the way he spoke of that experience got to me a little bit.
