What kind of "gravy" were they serving to where it could be served as a soup due to it being runny? I couldn't quite tell if it was supposed to be a white gravy or a brown gravy.
If it was a white gravy, some Southerners (like myself) wouldn't have cared either way; so long as there were bread rolls or biscuits of some sort, we would have gone for it anyway. But I suppose that it would work as a soup if someone was to throw a few veggies in there.
But by the same token, who has a white gravy with roast turkey? White gravy only goes with meat that's been breaded.

I make gravy from roasted meats quite often. I use the pan drippings as the fat for starting the gravy.

It would be nice if they posted the real recipes on the website.

I agree, it's be nice to have the recipes. I checked his website, but I don't see any recipes listed there.
That aside, as "guest stars" go I'd put him at #1. I really enjoyed this episode, myself.
BTW, the "new" Disco site has a myth that didn't air: cooking a lasagna in a dishwasher.

I would have expected the heated drying cycle to have at least crisped it up a little.

Not sure I liked the idea of cooking food on an engine but it was a very interesting idea.
I did think there was a scene missing though and thanks for the link.

That was very interested but some of the fans have the strangest ideas about the dishwasher cooking.

the recipes probably belong to Alton Brown. AB posted the pie recipe on Twitter today - @altonbrown pic.twitter.com/SOLQlbwO Not sure if he will post the rest. I'd love the lasagna recipe, though I will bake mine in an oven.

Not sure I liked the idea of cooking food on an engine but it was a very interesting idea. AB has done vehicle cooking before on Feasting on Asphalt. He made dinner on a motorcycle muffler IIRC.
