I was right.
According to the TV listings, at 8 PM US Central Standard Time, the pilot episode of the new "Mythbusters Junior" show will debut, with a repeat broadcast at 11 PM CST.
On one hand, I did indeed figure that the new episodes would air at the end of the marathon.
On the other hand, in order to make it happen *tonight*, the marathon skipped straight from 2014 to 2017 and didn't air any of "The Search" or the most recent season.

I set up DVR just in case I forget or I'm busy. Guess I wasn't paying attention. I always assumed it would be on Discovery not science channel. But I see Disco is too busy making moonshine to run any serious educational shows. I've noticed in the show description that they have changed their terminology from STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) to STEAM (A=Arts). By adding arts, I believe that they have watered down the whole idea of the STEM program. They might have just said general education.

Watched the show (about 3 hours late). Really not bad. A lot of fabricated drama, but no more than the original MB. So much for the myth that they can't do car myths with underaged drivers. Adam really seemed to be enjoying himself. I think I'll leave the DVR set and am looking forward to next weeks show.

I was pleased with the results. the kids all seem to have an appropriately young genius sort of mentality, and yes, driving myths are fair game.

Another thing I appreciated about MB Jr. is that they took on real myths. Not this fantasy action figure, Hollywood movie, cartoon, zombie garbage that, in my opinion, ruined the original series. Hopefully they will stick with busting real world myths and stay away from the fantasy stuff.

I wouldn't exactly class "can you make it out of duct tape?" to be a myth; but yes, some of the TV spinoffs were a bit lame

I haven’t encountered too many zombies that I had to defend against. Although I did find a few at Best Buy last night when I tried to exchange the CO 2 tank for my Sodastream. At least they weren't the aggressive type.

Just got a chance to watch the new show and, besides being delighted to see Adam back, I thought the entire thing was actually really good. Way better than I'd expected from a bunch of 12-15 year-olds. There's no doubt these kids are beyond smart, but most of them are pretty good on camera too. Only downside I see to this new show: Feeling like a failure as an adult when being introduced to a 12 year-old sophomore in college who's a freaking astrophysics major!
