Putting this here so it doesn't get buried, that way the world can see it. Since the summer break is coming up here in the US, I was thinking of doing a column listing educational resources parents can use to keep their kids learning throughout the break... but in a "fun" way that kids won't object to. Yes, I do intend to list this place. Anyone have any ideas they can contribute? One place I'm looking at is eduplace.com/, which is run by a major textbook publisher. It's study guides, work books, projects, and the like. Additionally, cable television company Spectrum (which is what we have in this area) has arrangements in place with a number of television and cable channels to offer free "on-demand" programming to customers. Among the channels? Science Channel, National Geographic Channel, and others. All of these channels are available on the Spectrum app, meaning you don't need to be in front of a TV with a Spectrum box to see the content... however, Science and a few other channels are in higher channel "tiers" than others, and so what you can actually view at a given moment will depend upon whether the app detects that you've got your customer credentials in order. Thanks.

Given the nature of the sequence that was cut, it's led to allegations that the show has been censored in favor of modern "progressive" sensibilities. Given this, I've been avoiding mentioning the series so as to keep away from the controversy.

When I was a kid, we had Mr. Wizard. Much better than Nye, whom I never really cared for. Just my opinion.
