The Comic Con "sizzle reel" from last summer includes footage of J&A and a ton of volunteers on an airplane mockup. According to some articles I've seen online, this was a test to see what the best way to load/unload an airplane is. Does anyone know when/if Discovery plans to air it?
According to the online schedule at Discovery, there is no new episode next Sunday. I don't know if the schedule is messed up (well, it is, but ... ), or if they're wrapping the 2012 season.

Last year their season finished on 30th of November, the year before it was 22nd of December. However since the last episode appears to have been a clip show I'd suspect that this may have been the last in the current run.
Then again, the official Twitter said nothing about 'more new episodes next year'.

I thought I saw a rumor of it having aired on the other side of the atlantic... as in our earlier time zone neighbors posting things about it.

It did air over here (in the UK) some weeks ago but we, also, seem to be suffering from a 'truncated' season. I don't recall seeing any new episodes since then, In fact, I think we've only had three or four episodes in this new season. Could it be a cynical attempt to create demand for the DVD? If so, it's having the opposite effect on tightwad me.

My DVR tells me there will be a new episode on the 9th, but there is no show description yet. I have not seen anything that says the season is over yet. I rather imagine they aired the A-Z explosions show because people on the holiday weekend were busy doing other things, so why waste a real new episode then.

*Muses*
I wonder if this is a side-effect of the cannon mishap they had earlier in the year? They halted production for a week or so, and of course put that myth on hold totally even when they resumed production. I wonder if this has led to a slightly shorter season than intended, and hence a gap in the schedule?

Since you're all getting close to discussing this anyway, I thought I'd throw this question in here:
Does anyone have any idea how the 'seasons' are built up? Looking up MythBusters on different sites gets you different structures to the seasons. Some are built up over what year they've aired and others count the break over the summer as a change in season. If that were true, then we'd be on at least the 14th or 15th SEASON by now, but still only on the 10th YEAR.
I'd say 'Explosions A-Z' is the 21st episode of the 10th season, but not everyone agrees with me. Especially not {Edited, you may want to read the rules again, specifically number 7 - CM}where I get the episodes, since we're at least a year behind the rest of you in Denmark.

For most of its run MB was the casts second job - M5 was a working special effects business, and filming had to take place around their primary job.
It is only in the last few years that MB has had something more like a true season - this being when Jamie decided to stop M5's special effects work which gave them more time for filming. Before this MB tended to be aired almost randomly, with the worst year being 8 new episodes in January/February, a six month gap before we had four new episodes, another two month wait for two new episodes then six episodes in December/January followed by another six month gap.
