You’ll have to let me know what it’s like. That site is region blocked for me. I'll be posting reviews, here. it sounds an awful like like "let's make a pretext to blow things up on camera" but I'm not sure there's anything wrong with that.

Sounds like it could actually be a little more interesting than just blowing things up for the sake of blowing things up. Here is basically what's in the show release info:

Didn't Disc Channel do something similar to this a few years back? I just remember the show was really stupid and did not last. Considering I can't remember what it was called, sows the lack of staying power it had.

1/1/20 Explosion Show
Enough explosions to satisfy the most diehard pyromaniac or whatever you would call someone that enjoys explosions. First half of this week's show was the study of explosion shock waves, how they travel and what is the best way to protect oneself from them. Very well done and educational. Second half was just BIG earth moving explosions.
Will definitely be checking out next week's show.

1/8/20:
part 1: they meet FBI explosives experts to learn a little bit about investigating bombings. we got to learn about recognizing characteristics of different explosive materials, how position affects the blast, and how to read blast patterns.
part 2: we learned about shaped charges. including that a wine bottle makes a good housing for a shaped charge.

Sounds like a good one, too bad I missed it this week. I set DVR to record the rerun tomorrow on Science Channel at 10AM CT.

This week, 1/15/20: 1st half: working with a sheriff's department to learn about bomb squad techniques and the use of explosives in situations such as door-breaching and neutralizing suspicious items. 2nd half: working with a company that puts on fireworks presentations

As it turns out, my cable provider (Comcast-Xfinity) allows me to watch The Explosion Show on demand once each episode has already aired.

once you've seen a fireworks show launched from ground zero, you kind of get a "been there, done that" demeanor.

a nitpick: what they showed the boys was a rollover, not a flashover. in a flashover, the combustibles release combustible gas, but the room heats up slowly enough that the gases accumulate - when the heat finally develops, the "air" catches fire. rollover warns you that flashover is imminent.
the art by explosives was good, but of course, as an art critic, I'm going to say I would have done things a bit differently.

It’s hard for them not to dumb down the show a little when the two hosts have the maturity level of 10-year-olds.

It’s hard for them not to dumb down the show a little when the two hosts have the maturity level of 10-year-olds. you let the audience see what they want to see. really, I've had a thing for the idea of painting with explosives since long before the Mr Bean test; and it was probably the best PWE they've done to date. I think a few more tweaks would start giving a great result.
