These guys are better known for videos of their extreme pranks, but when these two notorious YouTube pranksters saw a homeless man. Rather than prank him they did the opposite, and treated the man, Martin, to an "extreme makeover."

linkA woman in Missouri was involved in a serious car accident, but due to the reinforced nature of her vehicle the rescue crews were having difficulty cutting her out of there. 45 minutes in, she asked if someone could pray with her. A Catholic priest emerged on the scene and said a prayer with everyone. Not long after, additional rescue personnel arrived with higher-grade equipment and (after another 45 minutes) the woman was cut out of her car. When people went to thank the priest, he was gone. It's possible that he was able to slip in and out among all the confusion and noise, but that still leaves the question of just how he happened to be on the scene in the first place.

It's possible that he was able to slip in and out among all the confusion and noise, but that still leaves the question of just how he happened to be on the scene in the first place. I've been to an accident where a clergyman happened on scene. they tend to wander about in the course of their daily lives, same as the rest of us. but yes - believe it or not, some cars have structural members that are stronger than some older "jaws of life" in fact, the windshield pillars on one particular brand of car are HARDER than even the newest cutting jaws. one very real hazard is that if you are sloppy in cutting on these special alloys, you will allow the cutters to twist, and break the jaws off the cutter. - yet still they are now teaching the younger rescuers to just cut through the hard points instead of looking for the weak point. Which reminds me of an extrication story from back before we had a specialized pedal cutter tool. (designed to fit into the footwell and cut the (also hardened) shafts the brake and clutch pedal are on.) they had a patient who was in and out of consciousness - his right foot was entangled under the dash. as they aere trying to get the pedals cut or bent out of the way, the patient would regain consciousness long enough to say "just take my leg off" and then pass out again. after the extrication, they got him onto the backboard and gurney - and found it was an artificial leg.

linkAn argument as to why people need to play *more* games. I know there are times when I turn to a game when I just need to have SOMETHING go right. it can help get me through an obnoxious project that is fighting me every step of the way.

now the only question is whether the media will honor their request to not pester them over the anniversary week. I truly hope so. These families, and the community in general, have been through too much already. Let them spend time amongst themselves to remember, grieve and heal. If you have a little one at home, give them an extra hug on Saturday.
