The new series of Mythbusters has been advertised as "Coming SOON" to Discovery in the UK...
Just how far behind the rest of the world, or even just how far behind America, are we here?.....

By 'new series', do you mean new season? If so, the US saw Episode Five of Season 14 this last Wednesday.
What is the last "new" episode that you saw?

Just how did the 11th year of MythBusters suddenly become Season 14? I've seen others call it season 12 and 13, but 14 is - to me at least - overshoothing it a little.
As far as I'm informed, the confusion may have started when they began splitting the seasons into two parts, a spring and a fall part of the season. They started doing that back in '09 (season 7), kicking off the season on April 8th and pausing after episode 11 on June 17th. They then picked up where they left off on October 7th with episode 12, but still season 7.
This might have been where people started thinking of these breaks as ends and beginnings of entire seasons.
As far as I can tell, we're only on season 11, which would also make sense, as they're 11 years in at this point.

We have not had ANYTHING new this year yet.
The last episode "New" that I saw was via internet.... Our TV coverage is that bad.

The new season of MB aired on 1st May in the US - the JATO 3 revisit.
I *think* that the UK is not that far behind the US, and at times has in fact been ahead - I seem to recall that the autumn/fall season of MB airs on UK screens about a month or so before the US.

The FIRST show will be a "Revisit" of the Jato car, this next Monday night (At time of posting) .... I am wondering if it may be that we will have a complete series, being BOTH seasons, in one run?...

I am wondering if it may be that we will have a complete series, being BOTH seasons, in one run?... That is the first episode of the season that is currently running on US TV. So to answer your OP the UK would be about a month behind the US at this point. Things will probably even out later in the year, as the UK seems to start the new MB season in early September while the US seems to start in mid to late October.

Is there ANY chance of clearing this confusion up right now?
As far as I can tell, there IS no "new season" in September/October. There's just the fall part of the 2013 season, which would be season 11. Or am I completely wrong here and they've now begun airing two short seasons in one year instead of one long season, broken into two parts?

There will always be confusion as to which 'season' Mythbusters happens to be on as they have not been consistent either in the number of episodes produced per year or when and how they have been aired.
This was a side effect of the show being the casts second job. And it wasn't until Jamie decided to close M5's doors on special effects work to concentrate on the show that things settled down, and we've had 'real' seasons.
Wilkipedia, bless it, lists each 'season' as simply those episodes originally aired in a given year - with some overlap for any that are aired as part of a block of shows over the December/January period. This seems the best way to denote seasons for MB, especially given the erratic scheduling the show has had over the years. It is also how Discovery itself seems to organize things.
Using the year method means that we are currently on season 11.

That's how I think of them, too.
FWIW - the UK audience has seen an episode that has yet to air in the US about methods of boarding a plane.
