Fun, but the outcomes weren't all that surprising. My only question on this would be to Grant: Did you forget the parameters of the myth? How in the WORLD are you supposed to get that rig out a hotel room window? (yes, I know, it could have been collapsed then shoved out, but that wasn't in his original design. He didn't know that until afterwards.)

well, technically, since the parachute didn't make it out the window, it still matches the parameters ;D
I was disappointed that they didn't get a successful deployment of Kari's chute, but it did seem like the episode was a good substitute for the kids' bedsheet parachute stunt.
I would have liked to see the motorcycle stunt tried with a sand paddle tire on the back and see if it did better, but that's bordering on not mythbusters material.

I found no surprise in the parachute myth, but the outcome of the motorbike on water did surprise me.

I found no surprise in the parachute myth, but the outcome of the motorbike on water did surprise me. I've seen it done before with both motorbikes and snowmobiles, but it's tricky at best and can be rather dangerous if the machine sinks and/or the driver becomes distracted.

I've seen it done with snowmobiles and quads, but I had not seen a clear case of a motorcycle doing it, and was not sure there was enough tire surface to hydroplane the weight of the bike.

I liked the motorcycle one and was surprised that it could happen.
Parachute one was interesting but not sure the guy would have escaped if he did jump out the window anyway. LOL

I've heard of snowmoboating, but like lightworks I hadn't thought you could do the stunt with a motorcycle. I wonder how much they had to twist the insurance agent's arm to let Jamie try it? Considering that the safer awning fall was vetoed for Adam ....
I thought Buster was dead (again) after the final parachute drop. With the chute opening so late in the fall, I was certain it wouldn't have enough time to slow him down. It's probably a good thing they went to 30 stories for that drop, because the 20 of the original story probably wouldn't have worked.

So, was that really Jamie riding the bike into the water or was it a professional stunt double? Seems strange that in one of the "Drop Buster on his head" myths, the key man insurance company wouldn't let Jamie do the myth. So why, now, do they let him ride a bike 80 MPH into 8 feet of water?

Motorcycle Water Ski: Impressed with Jamie's riding skills. Though, not the first time he rode a motorcycle on the show - Motorcycle Tablecloth Pull was the first(?) Then again, another facet to the myth would be to include hydroplaning (driving on water) as part of the explanation.
Hotel Room Parachute: Not surprised at the results. Part of the problem might have been the way the parachute lagged after Buster was dropped. A person jumping off a hotel roof (or out a window) would probable toss the parachute like a BASE jumper.

I thought if the hotel was a bit taller the chute would have worked. Buster needed to go from the roof . When Jamie made it 300 feet across the pond, all I could think of was Adam's comment in the duct tape bridge episode - "They are made of brass - James Hyneman!"

I called that Jamie wouldn't make it all the way across that lake, but I would've NEVER guessed he'd make it almost 300 feet! That goes straight onto the top 5 of my "coolest things I've ever seen on MythBusters" list for sure and maybe even on the top 10 of my "coolest things I've ever seen in my life" list!
