wow. I went to the IMDB listing to see some inner details, and there is a flame war going on over the fact that Orson Scott Card opposes "gay marriage" - the conduct of which borders on being worse than the original offense. Yeah. The logic being employed by the folks who are flaming me is "Card is an evil, evil person for saying what he's been saying, and so we must be evil, evil people towards anyone who says good things about this movie." They fail to understand that they're basically just using their outrage as an excuse to be bullies and trolls.

There is an Ant Man film in pre-production, the release date is listed as July 31st 2015 - which would make sense as it *might* benefit from increased interest from Avengers 2, which is tabled for release on May 1st 2015. If the film is a hit, or at least not a spectacular flop, then Hank Pym might be considered for Avengers 3 - yes, Avengers 3. Robert Downey Jr is already signed up for two more Avengers Films.
Personally I'd rather see She-Hulk or Ms Marvel than a guy pretending to be an Ant.
And yes, Hank Pym was the 'star' of Marvels god awful 'Avengers Assemble' a few years back - not to be confused with the much newer series of the same name. That was a series that proves TV programs can lead to increased aggression, since everyone who watched that series for more than 10 seconds wanted nothing more than to beat the entire production crew to death with a frozen trout.

It's not so much "he's pretending to be an ant" as it is "he can communicate with insects and get them to do his bidding."
It might not sound like much, but when you consider all of the various stinging, biting, and swarming insects in the world, he's pretty potent. For example, if he got mad enough at someone, he could hypothetically summon a swarm of hornets to sting the guy to death.

The people who have been flaming me?
Now they think I'm a sock puppet or someone doing an extended troll.
Yeah.

The people who have been flaming me? Now they think I'm a sock puppet or someone doing an extended troll. Yeah. You might remind them, that the Guy who the book, made his movie deal more than 10 years ago, he ain't making squat off this film, other than perhaps a modest consulting fee. But yeah, folks are going to hate. Oh well.

They fail to understand that they're basically just using their outrage as an excuse to be bullies and trolls. their basic premise is "anyone who voices a religious objection to homosexuals telling them what they can think should be burned at the stake" and for the record, I believe that the term "marriage" is a religious term, and nobody has a right to demand that I use it in a manner that does not agree with my religious principles. - however, my proposed solution is to eliminate it as a legal term and let people use it or not as they see fit. I've been suggesting since long before "gay marriage" was a thing, that we should make the legal agreement a domestic partnership - since nobody really seems to consider it a lifelong agreement, any more; whether heterosexual or homosexual.

I think a lot of us would like to see She-Hulk. good looking, intelligent, and funny. what's not to like. (obviously excepting if your significant other starts drooling over her.)

According to Box Office Mojo, as of the 6th Ender's Game has pulled in $40m worldwide. On one hand, it still needs another $70m to just break even. On the other hand, it's kicking the snot out of Free Birds ($17.7m) and Last Vegas ($19.6m). It even bested the remake of Carrie ($38m), The Counselor ($17.8m), and 12 Years A Slave ($10m). So either we're looking at a field of largely weak competition (which is unlikely, given how well films like "Bad Grandpa", "Gravity", "Captain Phillips", and "Escape Plan" are doing world-wide), or the film has some ways to go even with what it's up against.

Just gave "Thor" a 9.8; there's a few scenes with an eccentric going around without his trousers, but otherwise it's fine so long as you see it with the kids. Also, Ender's Game is up to $42.9m, still a way's off from breaking even but a good showing, all things considered.

Box Office Mojo time! According to the website, * Ender's Game is now at $45.8m world-wide, still short of breaking even but slowly creeping there. * Thor is at $141m world-wide, with 77% of the take coming from outside of the US due to the delayed US release date.

Captain America interests me, something I never thought I'd say. Thank Chris Evans for that, who not only nailed the character but managed to do so while wiping away any memories of The Fantastic Four films.
Spiderman...to be honest the first film did nothing for me, so I don't have a lot of interest in the sequel. There was nothing wrong with the first film and in fact they did a lot of things right. It just doesn't seem to have catch my interest - maybe I've outgrown the wall crawler....
The X-Men film looks much more interesting. First Class was well done even if like Spiderman it failed to fully catch my interest, and Days of Future Past was (for those who don't know the X-Men comics) one of the truly classic storylines written and printed at a time where you could keep track of who the X-Men were without an encyclopaedia. Of course the Dark Phoenix story was another classic, and that became X-Men 3... The trailer shows that quite a lot of the cast from the original X-Men trilogy is involved - although I'd strongly suspect that most of them are little more than cameo appearances given how much screen time they get in the trailer.
Guardians of the Galaxy...yeah...The title means nothing what-so-ever to me and I suspect I'm far from alone, nor does the premise behind it (when you do some quick reading) do anything but bore me. Added to this is that even without reading specifics it seems fairly clear that we're looking at a CGI heavy film, and therefore an expensive one. I can't help but think that this is going to be the first of the Marvel films to make a loss, or at best just about manage to cover its production costs. I have to wonder if this might not be a test to see if the Marvel logo can sell films on its own, even those that have franchises only the most die-hard Marvel fans would have heard of.
Fantastic Four, I'm in two minds here. Part of me is sort of interested to see what they do. The other is sighing heavily and expecting to see a glossier version of what we've already seen before.
Avengers 2; *Salivates* Should be very, very good....

spider man: if they take what they got right in each "cycle" I.E. the casting quality from the first, and the fact that they kept the tech true to the story in the second...

I’m a big Captain America fan not because of Chris Evans, but because when I was a child my Grandfather used to read me his old Captain America comics, he got given as PR stuff from the military during the war. When I was little I stayed with him on Sunday afternoons because I didn’t want to go to my brother & sisters sports practices & sit around & be bored. Grandma always went to her church ladies day meetings & my folks were with my siblings so I stayed with my Grandpa. I had cookies/brownies & milk & sat around reading Captain America comics & hearing stories about the war. It was only a short two year period but it was one of the best times of my life.

I think I'll be giving this one a miss for one reason - Russell Crowe *shudders*. I can't stand seeing him on screen! It's like having your teeth pulled without pain killers!
