Me. As of today (14 October 2013), I'm currently serving as the movie reviewer for the Copperas Cove (TX) Leader-Press newspaper (http://www.coveleaderpress.com/ ). I'll be doing a new review each Tuesday if all goes well. My first review ("Captain Phillips") was published on the 14th; the online edition will likely be available for subscribers within a few days.

Cool.
Why not give us a sample review and let us see your work?

Cool. Why not give us a sample review and let us see your work? The review I did is 600 words long; it may not come out right in this particular format.

Are there any of words or phrases that you are banned from using in your reviews? (i.e., craptastic, crapfest, "so bad I cried in despair", "the menu at PF Chang's has a better plot than this movie")

Are there any of words or phrases that you are banned from using in your reviews? (i.e., craptastic, crapfest, "so bad I cried in despair", "the menu at PF Chang's has a better plot than this movie") According to Box Office Mojo.com, *my options for the 25th are "The Counselor" (graphic violence, et cetra) and "Bad Grandpa" (starring Johnny Knoxville) *my options for November 15th are "The Best Man Holiday" and "The Wolf Of Wall Street" (never heard of either one) *my options for November 22nd are "Delivery Man" (with Vince Vaughn) and "The Hunger Games" (2 hours, 26 minutes). Given this, I might just find out soon what my limits for content actually are.

Ouch. All choices seem to be on the painful side...

the hunger games is a good option. I have no personal plans to see the others.
my favorite review to date was "This movie was not prescreened for reviewers, which is usually an indication that it bites at fleas and bays at the moon."

Ouch. All choices seem to be on the painful side... My current plan: Friday - Escape Plan 25th - Bad Grandpa (19 minutes shorter) 1st - Ender's Game 8th - Thor: The Dark World 15th - coin toss 22nd - Delivery Man (I'm trying to do my reviews same-day; that extra half hour means I might not have it done before the editor leaves for the evening if I do Hunger Games) 27th - Frozen

With the amount of movies you're gonna be watching, I'm guessing the tickets are either free/sponsored or the job is rediculously well paid?

I am really excited for Ender's Game. I have loved that book for decades.

One of my brothers is a big fan of Orson Scott Card.
If I passed up the review without a good excuse, he wouldn't let me hear the end of it.

I am actually more than usually worried about Ender's Game. the teasers kind of make it appear that the screenwriter didn't bother reading the book.

Isn't that how most movies are made?
