I am running a what is search (same as who-is, but asking for reports from other sites on reputation...)
The WHOLE site is not known as bad by Norton, my first port of call.
However, I note other forums elsewhere are reporting the same problem.
Yes, there is a problem, I just cant work out, at this time, exactly what it is.....
I have traced some info....
Someone "Linked" an image on that site that originated from somewhere "Suspect"
They deleted that particular image, and the "problem" went away, other images hosted on that site were "safe"....
From what I can gather (so far) and open to correction should other information become available.Firstly, the problem has occurred
Mostly on chrome browsers?....
(And I am not getting any reports of bad image from my uber-parranoid own set of anti-malware here...)
That is maybe because Google have detected something suspicious.
Secondly, someone has suggested that you check your own filters, especially if you have some form of Adblock system, as that site is known to host adverts, it may have been flagged in say for instance Adblock Plus as a "Whole site blocked" by mistake because of one instance of malware.
However...
Google are not happy with that site....
source....
support.google.com/websearch/answer/45449?rd=1I get this message on one result of CDN (Canadian) meme generator, if you try a google search of that site, it may come up as one of the results, I will not post that link here as it may not be safe, but it has a warning.
From what I can find out, I believe some images hosted by that site "May" have been hacked, and google, who own chrome, are reacting in that by suggesting the site needs looking at by the owners.
Getting your site blocked is a sure fire way to get the owners of the site to tighten security?....
I also must state that I tried a search by Norton on some of the suspect images that were reported in other forums, and got warnings.
Therefore, the whole site is not inherently unsafe, its just certain images are unsafe "At this moment", I may be drawn to suspect that a sustained hack attack is happening, someone may be trying to hack that site at this time, and if anyone sees a warning about any image, do NOT investigate it further, do not risk it downloading.
And do an update on any anti-malware you may be running....
Sometimes the fix is out there as quick as the virus.. I get almost daily updates to Norton.
This whole post may be summed up in one easy sentance.
If you aint sure, DONT.
