I'm sure we do. So what's wrong with calling it what it is, our Space Force. Nothing new, just being rebranded by our Brandmaster in Chief. so, wait... that wasn't a dream? No, I think it's nope watching too many Star Wars movies.

Almost forgot to post this earlier.
In the dream in question, I'm making enough to where I have my own house and a family. This means I have all the issues that come along with it.
One of the issues? A storm has taken out part of the back fence. There's now a gap large enough that a loose kangaroo is getting into and out of the back yard. I have some time, so I need to fix the fence before the kangaroo causes any more problems.
The plan? Check my social media real quick, and then go take care of it.
I get to Twitter, and I see a number of postings from various comic industry professionals. Basically, these individuals have gone full bonkers about something, and are making an incredible series of shocking and misinformed postings about things they're upset over despite not understanding.
The wife comes in to see what's going on.
I show her the postings and my efforts to correct the misinformation and ignorance being spread.
She's so mortified by the postings in question that she gives me her official permission to spend the rest of the day trying to bring some sense and logic back to the world; the kangaroo can wait.
I wonder if it means anything...

I wonder if it means anything... my first impression would be that your subconscious is trying to tell you that you're giving yourself permission to ignore real world problems in favor of being a social media warrior.

Not that you can’t be a social media warrior and still be able to support yourself and have a family, complete with all the weird problems that come with it.

I swear.
I pop online just now.
#1 thing in my Twitter feed -
Controversial comic industry figure Tim Doyle apologizing to his pals. Seems that he went to run a block bot on someone he didn't want to deal with, but instead of blocking anyone who followed that person he set it to block anyone that person was following. As such, he accidentally blocked most of his pals.
I suppose I should be on the watch for kangaroos now.

As such, he accidentally blocked most of his pals. I suppose I should be on the watch for kangaroos now. Never trust a bot. A big controversy with Twitter right now is the use of so-called "block bots". How they work is as simple as it is alarming: if there's someone you don't like, you can set the bot to not only block that person from seeing your posts but also block anyone who follows them from seeing your posts. Use of a block bot means that you hate the person so much that you'll willing to block people you've never known or interacted with just to ensure that you don't even have to vaguely hear anything similar to what that person is saying. Depending upon how popular the person is that you're blocking, this can literally be hundreds or even thousands of people automatically blocked. The big thing that brought block bots to prominent attention is that they're favored by a number of comic book professionals who tend to regard themselves as "progressive" politically and socially; the people they're using these bots on tend to be folks who express social and political sentiments that they don't like, thereby ensuring that their feeds are nothing but their friends and those who share their same views.

I have a much simpler solution. I just block Twitter.

I have a much simpler solution. I just block Twitter. Twitter's also a big rallying site for independent creators, especially creators trying to crowd-fund their projects instead of going through the typical system. That's why I'm still on it. As it is, something else astounding hit the top of my feed earlier: a comic pro asking people if they could help him figure out why his block bot keeps crashing. If he tries to block someone with 5,000 or more followers, the bot goes down. Yeah - this guy's trying to block 5,000+ people at once in order to keep his echo chamber.

I try to avoid social media, or as TLW rightly calls it, un-social media.

I try to avoid social media, or as TLW rightly calls it, un-social media. no, you're getting it wrong. antisocial media is different from social media. I skip social media and engage in antisocial media.

That would make you a social-capitalist. if by paid, you mean get more money out of it than it costs me to do it, chances are I do not. also, I do not own any of the equipment I use in the performance of my duties. beyond that, I belong to a government organization that receives from all people as they have the ability (in the form of taxes) and distributes to people as they have need (in the form of fire/rescue services)

3 a.m. here and I just woke from a recurring dream I've had on and off for a few months now.
The details change from time to time and are a bit hazy, but the common thread to all of them is that my ex-girlfriend teams up with a group of my old friends and they all gang up on me to tell and show me in any way they can think of how much they all hate me.
In each and every one of these it starts off slow, but eventually gets to a point where they won't leave me alone and I end up having to flee town to get away from them. And it's never just "I get in my car and go without telling anyone and that's it". They actively follow me and I have to make an honest-to-goodness escape, distracting, obstructing and preventing them from pursuing me in various ways.
I always wake up at the same point: Finally having shaken them off and finding myself all alone in the middle of nowhere, wanting to call someone for help or even just a sympathetic ear, but fearing it's spread so everyone I've ever known hates me now and I have no idea who I can trust.
When I started writing this about 10 minutes ago, I was hoping someone here might be able to help me interpret what it could mean, but I think I just figured it out myself with that last line...

Next time you have that dream, call us. You can trust us and while sometimes we disagree, we don't hate anybody.
