Didn't know where else to put this, so feel free to move it or delete it when the problem's been fixed.
Anyone else having trouble with the forum at the moment? For the past 3 days I've been getting error messages from Proboards periodically and having my connection time out all the time. It's getting really annoying!
I have no problems with logging on to anything else and no speed issues with my internet connection in general. The problem also persists when I try using Internet Explorer instead of Firefox, so it doesn't seem to be anything on my end.

I'm back to normal, now. tried to say earlier that the ERR bear was running amok - but apparently it didn't post.

I'm still having problems, occasionally getting the bear as well, but mostly it's just really slow navigation and getting thrown off the forum entirely with no error message at all. Seems like a time out error.

Well, something's not working right.
I just posted an image in the Caption This thread and it was there and fine right after I'd posted it, but once Cyber made the first comment, I suddenly couldn't see it anymore. There's something funky going on with this whole picture upload thing sometimes...

"Ownership rights".
Cant go into details just yet, but, because someone hacked someone (You know the story without me mentioning it dont you?..) and "Stole" some photographs being held on "The Cloud", certain servers are down for "Adjustments", upgrades if you will, and ownership rights and reposting of photos that appear elsewhere may change in the near future, to prevent theft of images, and to prevent re-posting without consent.
This will not change of those sites who host pictures or images that are posted as "I own these and give permission for them to be viewed by anyone". But the "Owners" will have to post more stringent traceability than just a disposable email address.

But the "Owners" will have to post more stringent traceability than just a disposable email address. and that is a good thing. the other little tidbit I saw - some of those stolen images were taken when the subject was a minor - and as the FBI's intention is to DISCOURAGE such behavior - if caught, the hackers will be charged with posting child pornography. my question is whether the "cloud" will go (in public image) from being the best thing since sliced broccoli to leaving your house open when you go on vacation.

I will never "Trust" this cloud thing. For a start, you always rent it, you dont own it. Back on ground level, I have a home server, a redundant PC now running Linux based storage system on our home network with a terabyte of memory for storage. And thats auto-backup, it has 2.5 Tb of memory, it just uses 1.5 of that to make copies on backup drives. No one will easily break my home security, because its designed to be set as "Paranoid".

I am of the same sort of opinion about "the cloud" I put up with it in banking, because I have to have money flying about here ant there, anyway. but my books and my pictures can just sit "on the shelf" at home and I don't have to worry about either passing them out to people or about someone thinking they can break in and walk off with them. storing my personal data on "the cloud" makes as much sense to me as putting my groceries in a rented warehouse and trusting the owner to let me in when I want a snack.

Please note the two latest threads/posts opened in tech help.... latest chatter says there are things to be wary of on Cloud storage, and Home network configuration to shared data drives.
