I'm slowly going through all of the DVDs I have to see what I want to keep and what I want to sell. As part of it, I'm working on a "Lost In Space" boxed set. As you can imagine, given that this was a television show from the early days of television, the fantasy inherent in everything nopeed all but the most basic of scientific concerns as far as accuracy went.
This has me thinking.
Suppose, for a second, that someone was to broadcast the series (or another such sci-fi series again), but with the episode occasionally giving way to a panel of experts (I'm thinking 1 - 3 scientists, a writer who preferably has some sci-fi cred, and maybe one or two surviving cast members) who discuss the science behind the science fiction and talk about the literary liberties taken for such a show. Granted, this would increase the run time significantly (such as an hour show now taking an hour and a half), but it could work in a pinch as a sort of "edutainment".
How's this sound?

How's this sound? you would have to have a half naked celebutante and a lot more blood to catch a modern TV audience's attention, I'm afraid...

Sounds like a bad idea as pitched, as it would break up the story.
Caution; Read the boards disclaimer - which applies to ALL sections of the board.

(and I get the idea any ownership claim to the idea would be more along the lines of "he got the idea from me, so he can't claim ownership of it" than "I'm claiming ownership of it"
