Twitter starts e-commerce push with 'buy' button?... www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-29112880Again I found this is also on the BBC site. Read the article, then muse over what I am discussing elsewhere. What right to twitter have to "Push" feeds from users supplying the adverts?... If I had (I dont) a Twit account, and I decide to "Follow" you for instance, because you are interesting, and you are my fist and only "Feed" at this time, because I am new to all of this, and then I start getting "twits" from some advertising firm, how annoying will that be?... I can see add-block plus being introduced to twitter to block annoying pop-up ads that I did not sign up for and dont want blocking my "In" box.. I may miss something I wanted to see from you?.... Apparently Twitter may have, somewhere in that epic EULA, the right to just add feeds from other users to my account without my consent, "Carefully vetted third party interests", (Vetted as in they are getting PAID for it...) under fair usage policy and the right to change terms and conditions. Either that, or they will invite you to partake in some clever "Update to a better service" thing, whereby doing so you will tick without reading their right to pop in adverts. Some poor sod is trying to read the T's and C's right now to see if they can decipher them......

Twitter, like Google, is a private company. They don't force anyone to use their product. If they want to have advertising, they have a right to have advertising. If they over play the advert hand, their users will revolt and they will end up losing their customers.
What concerns me more is the privacy issue. I don't use a lot of Google's products, even though they are offered "free", because I don't want Google collecting what I consider my personal information and then either using it to target ad's at me or outright sell the information to other companies. That's why I won't go anywhere near Gmail. Same for Facebook
