There is enough water in Lake Superior to flood North and South America to one foot deep all over.
...... Thats a LOT of water...................................
I dont have the math to disprove this one, I dont know how big Superior is....

There is enough water in Lake Superior to flood North and South America to one foot deep all over. ...... Thats a LOT of water................................... I dont have the math to disprove this one, I dont know how big Superior is.... without knowing the depth of lake superior, I would have to characterize this as the same sort of fallacy as "a waterbed could flood your entire house" it is 31,700 square miles in surface area, and has a mean depth of 483'. that means it could theoreticaly spread out to fill a 15,311,100 square mile basin a foot deep. north America is approximately 9,540,000 square miles, and south america is about 6,888,000 square miles. so there is theoretically enough water in Lake Superior to cover a basin the surface area of the americas a foot deep, in actuality, there is only just enough to fill a hole up in the upper right hand corner of the US.

Well there you go..... It always astounds me that water doesnt stick to the side of a mountain?..... Seriously though, if one foot of water fell on America all at the same time, I think some people in low lying area's are going to be in deep water.
