If you visit Scotland then a trip to the GP, or a visit to a ER in an emergency would always be free.

You would have to,pay for example for Dental treatment or prescriptions in the same way we do, but any urgent treatment would be given without charge.

If you need medical care, you will never be refused by the NHS.
If you have medical insurance, bring you card with you, it will help identify you and if you have any medical needs we may be able to use the ID to find out what previous records you have should that be important.
Plus if you have insurance, there is no trouble with bills.

yes, that was my understanding from previous conversations on comparative healthcare.

here, emergency rooms must treat without regard for ability to pay. thus most of the poor wait for it to become an emergency and then go to the ER - which must then recoup its losses by charging more for those who have insurance.
