Mommy wants the SUV because she believes likkle kiddies are "Safer" in the SUV.
I can bust this one on my own with just a few NCap assessments between SUV and top scoring "sedans" as you would call them, plus the extra height higher centre of gravity thing, and a whole lot more.....
So is it worth covering as a myth on Mythbusters?....
Hell Yeah... if it drops the population of "Tall" cars blocking my view, I am all for it.

Hell Yeah... if it drops the population of "Tall" cars blocking my view, I am all for it. the bad data this comes from is testing that shows in a territorial dispute between an SUV and a compact car, the compact car sustains more damage. case in point - we had a dispute between a late 70s/early 80s Chevy suburban and a late 80s honda. honda was most likely a total loss. suburban broke a front wheel off. both drivers were transported by ambulance with neck and back pain.

as far as tall cars, my mother insists on drivign a "tall" car. it is easier for her to get in and out with an upright seating position, than to sit down into a sedan. of course, her tall car is a minivan, because she doesn't want to have to maintain all that extra drivetrain.

I don't mind a bit taller minivan or people carrier, the xsara picasso is a tad taller too than a normal car and has a better seating position and is easier to get into.
What i do hate are the tanks that some people drive, that block the whole view and don't fit in a standard parking bay.
The new landcruisers are a good/bad example, but they tend to have russian plates here...

I like the lug nut theory. In any accident, the vehicle with the most lug nuts always wins.
