Please please please all of you check before you go to Customer Support.
If you have a paid-for Anti-Virus, check TWICE before you open a web page for the customer support site if you have problems...
That have been reports of spoof addresses again. These will be close to what you thought you typed but not what you wanted... I would suggest something like Simantic dot com instead of Symantec dot com for the home of norton etc?...
Beware of them calling you. If you cannot verify who phoned you, do NOT give them your personal details.
Caller ID. There have been reports of spoof caller ID numbers, as in the one displayed on your incoming call screen is not the one thats actually calling you.
DO NOT give away personal information for free.
And dont "Sign up" to anything unless you pone them.

Just to add to this thread... Fake Anti-Virus. There are always new kids on the block, and there are a number of new anti-virus tools out every year.... [Or so they claim] Only a small percentage of them are genuine.
If you have never heard of it, do not be persuaded that you MUST trust it... And anything that claims its sanctioned by Microbodge quite often is not.
I do feel genuine regret for those genuine new people on the scene who are trying to make a name in anti-nasty... Its not easy to gain trust, especially when your own website sort of alludes to "Trust NO ONE", which kind of says "Not even us"?....
But the search engine (Not how I am trying to stay away from a certain name there) is your friend, go get a few independent reviews from names you tryst, CNet is always a good place to visit for reviews, even Norton Community will research other anti-viruses. Which?. magazine is also quite a good place to get reviews.
If anyone else has any good suggestions for review sites that are pretty much not biased towards certain products, please post them for us all to share....
And NEVER trust the sales person trying to sell you a computer to recommend a good anti-nasty... they are on commission to sell "Product [xyz]" this month. If you have to ask them, you have already failed. If you need to ask, ask HERE, between us, we can find you the right one, or show you where to look?....
