But I say you can walk the right dog without a lead, I have seen it done, I dont trust my own dog, but I have seen other dogs do just that.

our dog's breeder does a lot of shows and her dogs are perfectly behaved and can walk off-leash even at shows.

our own dog is rather less behaved, she's very friendly but will occasionally ignore commands if something is interesting enough.
