I was reading the description and found some interesting suggested uses:
Burning Man Combat Vehicle?? How many of you remember the Twisted Metal video game series? Yeah, that's what came to mind for me...

Burning Man is a big deal to many in Silicon Valley. I know folks who disappear for a week or so to indulge themselves on the Playa. If you get into that culture, you can go overboard (like all hobbies).

obviously not for hauling cargo, or the engine wouldn't be out.

I had thought it was the MCS van, until it said it was used recently.

Hmmm...I wonder if they will be offering blueprints in charity auctions after the last show has aired (or concurrent with the last show)??
I'd be willing to bet that the Busted, Plausible & Confirmed placards will be getting added to Adam's mancave...

That van was similar to the one they used on the courier service turn left myth if I remember right?...
From the list... Maybe not. That myth was after that, so, it must have been legal on the road?...
I love this bit...
It says the motor was removed, so does it drive then?...
Looks to me, by the shots of the inside, it may have been used as a on-site tool shed.

It also says that the engine fits back in.

It also says that the engine fits back in. I was operating on the assumption that whatever it was used for required the removal of the engine. obviously there is also the implication that whatever it was used for was non-destructive. - which may imply its use was incidental to the show.

Is an old truck that may have been used by the Mythbusters as a storage shed really a piece of Mythbuster's history? If that's the case, maybe I should put my old CRT TV up for auction as a piece of Mythbuster's history. After all, I watched the Mythbuster's show on it.

It also says that the engine fits back in. Note the description of "Only three bolts"..... Yeah. I can fit you a useless lump of iron in the front with three bolts. Connecting the drive-shafts, exhaust, gear box, or "transmission" if your American, water hoses, electricals, oil hoses, (Oil cooler radiator) other hoses, control rods for throttle (power) brakes etc, bet that takes a LOT more?.. I can (At a push?..) do an engine swap in an afternoon, on a Mini, because I have done that before and more or less know what I am doing. Getting the current Dads Taxi engine swapped out may take a little longer.... Three bolts my (backside). And just for the record, Three Bolts is the norm on any engine mount anyway. (Usually on Rubber pads as well...?)Thats what keeps it in place whilst you bolt everything else to it, and stops it dropping on the floor?.. (On normal small to light engines, there are bigger bolts and more of them on big engines) the having a whole lot more bolted TO the engine is what keeps it in place.... But thats just me being slightly pedantic here.

Note he said it installed with three bolts. He didn't say it RAN with three bolts... I know the area. I'm thinking of checking it out.

in theory, it might have three motor mounts and have the driveshaft pulled apart at the splines. I agree, though - there are definitely more than three fasteners between an engine being in and an engine being out.
