As always this experiment should be done with adult supervision - Cyber
This is a simple indoor experiment that can be done with the kids.
Things you will need. 4 screw on plastic soda caps. 4 eggs. Lots of books. LOTS of books
Place the caps on the floor so that a book can be stacked on top of them. Place one egg in each on the caps so that the pointed end of the egg faces up. This is done so that the eggs will be stable.
Place a book on top of the eggs. Now place books on top of the first book and see how many it will take to crush the eggs.
You might want to spread a layer of plastic wrap over the eggs and under the first book to aid in the clean up should you actually place enough books to break the eggs.
This set up will hold an entire set of encyclopedias plus.
Have fun

My apologies. Please conduct this experiment under adult supervision. As with all experiments too much aggression can and will result in undesirable side effects.

No need to apologise, I added the request and disclaimer to the board after you had posted.

Like all other experiments, this should also be done with an adult nearby and maybe an apron if something spills (it won't go poof though).
Get a cup of vinegar. Put a whole, raw egg in the cup (don't crack the egg open) Check on your egg every day and tell us what's happening!

That reminded me of a whole series of experiments involving that which I have now posted. You just need to remember to refrigerate the dang thing... Like all other experiments, this should also be done with an adult nearby and maybe an apron if something spills (it won't go poof though). Get a cup of vinegar. Put a whole, raw egg in the cup (don't crack the egg open) Check on your egg every day and tell us what's happening!

Put a whole, raw egg in the cup (don't crack the egg open) Check on your egg every day and tell us what's happening! When you have completed the above experiment, you may wish to use the egg in a further one. Of course, adult supervision is very strongly advised, as is protective eye-wear (just in case ...) and a pair of oven gloves and an apron. Take a bottle or jar with a neck a little narrower than the egg is wide. Fill it with hot water (not boiling). Put on the gloves and empty out the hot water. Remove the gloves to pick up the egg and stand it on the neck of the bottle and wait a few moments. What do you see happening? A third experiment can produce results to amaze your friends. Take the bottle with the egg now, hopefully, inside and fill it with cold water, put it in the 'fridge for a day or so, then pour out the water. How's the egg now?
