The Bothan Spy has agreed to answer some questions, before they go off and steal the plans for something called the Death Sphere.
So get asking, the more interesting ones stand some chance of being asked.

What next?...
As a Bothan, you must know where everyone is about to go off......
So can you tell us "Keep an eye out for a new series from the makers of Mythbusters" in the future?.. will there ever be a spin-off series, what are the team planning next, if anything... And I include the WHOLE team of staff, not just J&A in that.

I subscribe to both Kari's & Tory's Facebook pages & they have said they are in production of a new show along with Grant. BUT they can't give any details out about the show as of yet. But they will keep everyone updated as they go so when I hear anything I'll let everyone know.

That is kinda interesting, I wonder if as part of their leaving settlement, if they had one, they were not supposed to work on other similar ideas to Mythbusters while it was still going? Now it is finished they may be free to do similar projects again.

In 's just speculation on my behalf I guess, I have friends who are computer programmers who have similar clauses in their contracts when they leave their jobs.

I can give you a bit more info I just found out, they're doing something for/with The Science Channel. I think the reason they can't say more is because it's still in production & the network wants the show to be a surprise.

Networks don't talk about shows until they have been green lit and/or are filming. This prevents someone else from trying to get something similar out before they do. In this case they probably haven't filmed the pilot episode, let alone been picked up for a season, right now. They will probably wait until or if the project is picked up before telling us more.

I recall the original announcement was that Adam and Jamie were working as advisors an a show but nothing more was allowed to be said.

Only really enforced if you're an Apple engineer moving to Google or vice versa and the two companies feel like suing each other today.

New question: Are you related to The Stig? They're both mysterious, very few people know who they really are*, they work for popular TV series... *Yes, I know The Stig's identity has been revealed...

I'd assume that, since they were producers, 'non-competes' would not apply to A&J.

I was referring to the likelihood it was "business as usual" type prerelease secrecy.

I have heard of it used by other companies as well, an example of which from the RPG world would be the Gary Gygax Dangerous Journeys situation that caused Games Desginers Workshop to be sued by TSR.

While understand that the rationale behind these clauses is to prevent secrets from being learned between industry competitors, I still find it absolutely mind-boggling what it does to the employee involved. If I work at Google as an app designer, I cannot work for any other perceived competitor*, regardless of business sector, as an app designer even though this is what I learned in college and all I have been doing for the past ten years. *This is where it gets ticklish: "perceived competitors" may include companies that have no real connection to your company outside needing an app. A Google app designer may be prevented from working to design apps for Papa John's or Geico because of potential for utilizing or divulging any information that Google has decided are "trade secrets"...
