The purpose of this thread is to discuss current and future plans of the cast & crew of Mythbusters as they are revealed. I know there have been mentions of cast projects scattered around the boards, so might as well consolidate them.

Not much to go on yet, but Adam posted on Twitter (@donttrythis) that he would be a guest judge during the 2016 season of Battlebots on ABC. He didn't give any details as to how many or which episodes it would be...guess we'll have to watch & find out.

Can we have an update if it is possible to promote this board as a "Fan site" for the future of Mythbusters?...

Found this the other day and thought everyone here would enjoy reading it: Adam Savage: Don't let science scare youSo, based on what Adam's saying, all of us are bomb squad material. But, Adam has been keeping busy between Tested.com & it's associated podcasts as well as giving talks at Maker Faires & being a guest judge on Battlebots.

Battlebots aired it's latest season last night, and Adam was a judge on it. He voted the winner every time, except the one split decision, he was the descending vote. To Be honest, I agreed with his vote over the other two judges

To Be honest, I agreed with his vote over the other two judges Agreed. The bot that ended up losing - the one Adam voted for - was in control of the fight most of the time, flipping over the other bot repeatedly. Sure, the other one got a few good hits in with that hammer it had, but it didn't really do any damage and was never a real threat. It was in serious trouble for most of the match and for the half minute it wasn't, it didn't deliver anything that I would have considered good enough to win.

I'm hopeful that that the losing bot (can't remember it's name right now) will be one of the wildcards.

Can we have an update if it is possible to promote this board as a "Fan site" for the future of Mythbusters?... In theory it's a good idea but if just playing Devils Advocate here if we become the 'official' Mythbusters forum site, the we risk getting Trolls & other undesirables in here. Just a thought.

It might get bloody, but how long do you think a troll would last here? Honestly? About point 0.2 of a Nano second. Longevity isn't the issue longevity is - remember Trolls & No0bs breed like fly's, & are just as annoying to deal with.

Lex, we have had it easy, to be honest, since we split from the Disco site, on "n00bs". They have always been welcome, but been mighty sparse.... We were all n00bs at one point, I have had some trepidation about the possibility of n00b action and creation of possible trolls, but, I think we have a pretty sensible bunch here, and if needs be, we can always recruit new Mods from our own numbers, so I think my own previous fears were ungrounded, and possibly wrong, time has shown we are all good here. My initial reasons for not wanting to be a Mod have waned over the time I have been here, if asked again if I could help out, then yes, I would be happy to. If it was a case of having to need new mods to deal with increasing membership, then I am happy to volunteer. I think you would get the same from many of us regulars. I do not believe the current "outside world" of trolls has any grounds for being able to upset the balance here, as its weighted against them, in that anyone who starts to be trouble will be shown the exits pretty soon. We dont need, nor will we put up with, pure troll-ism here?.. We may be able to alter the stages of noob-to-senior member and make it plain that all instances of troll-isim in the first stage will lead to permanent deletion of account. We must also make it clear that all posts created by them will be held up for inspection and used as evidence. We can not prevent trolls, but we can deter them.. its not easy, but in the process of attracting new members, you get about 10% troll. We must deal with it and move on, in the belief that "Not everyone out there" is worthless. In fact, most people are welcome, we hold their views in high regard, its just the ijurts we wish to distance from us.

Can we have an update if it is possible to promote this board as a "Fan site" for the future of Mythbusters?... Sorry, missed this due to RL issues. TC is not and can not be promoted as an official Mythbusters site. The boards description specifically notes that this is an UNOFFICIAL site for this reason. We were a valuable resource to the old series and known to the shows producers, who in fact helped set the board up by providing input as to how the disclaimer needed to be worded in order for them to be able to look at, let alone use, ideas posted here. But this does not and never did make TC 'Official'. Aside from anything else such a decision was not the shows producers to make, it was Discovery Channels and they have their own boards for their shows they would rather people visit. This time around it would be the Science Channel calling the shots in this regard. And they would also want people to visit their site. The shows producers might well be just as willing to use TC as a resource, especially since Dan Tapster seems to be involved at least in the search for series if not the series and is likely to mention TC as one place to go when looking for ideas. But they are not going to advertise nor give any impression that TC is in any shape or form official. The very most the Science channel *might* be willing to do is consider TC as an outside and independent affiliate to some degree. Meaning they list this as A MB fansite on their own pages fans might want to check out. Don't hold your breath though as Discovery never did this for other boards, and while the Science channel might have a different approach I can't imagine any significant change in this regards.

Works for me. As long as they know we are here, "Business as usual". I just wish they could give us a mention in some way. Not intending to say that the place doesn't run well as it is, because it does, but new members may help us develop it even better?..

There's only so much a tight knit group can do when it comes to new ideas. At some point you stagnate and need new input from outside. That fact is well studied and documented.

We actually had to move the pasture, the horses were offended by Loki's "aroma".

They were WHAT?... snowflakes the lot of them, and after last year when they got into the malted barley pile as well, and the smells they made.... So if its not horse pasture, what is it outside the windows?. And we had better take this elsewhere, because this is thread polution, never mind Lokis washing polution?...
