You take the car to the car park and the human gets out to "Go and play"..... Its where you park the car, same use of park as parking brake, you park you backside on the seat, park is from that part of the use of the word park that means to stand still, so park car goes to car park, and that how we get there, because its where cars to go stand still.
You say building "Lot", we add a "P" and call it a building Plot. You call it "Real estate", we ask, whats the difference with the imaginary estate then?.. If its not real, what is it?.. do you even have non real estate vendors?.. Again with the different use of the same language.
On the front of a house, its a drive-way., or just Drive, its not a car park unless it holds say half a dozen or more.

Basically, land is the only thing that is "real". It can't be moved. It will always be where it is now, and it's always been where it is now.
Unlike other property, which can be destroyed, moved, lost, stolen, etc., real estate is permanent.
And, as they say, they aren't making any more of it...
...except in Hawaii, maybe.

Continuing here from World news, and the seat belt issues.
I always state use the belt or the vehicle doesnt move, even in works vehicles, no one has ever successfully argues, because its belt up or get out. If you do it with enough conviction, and use "Its not for me, its for the other idiots on the road" attitude, and persuade them thats why they must belt up, most people cave in and use the belt.
I have had some people argue against, even use teh "I have medical exception", I have said quite simply they should never ask me for a lift.
I used to drive buses. I have never had an accident in a bus, not one, I have had some bloody close scrapes, and I have had one sat on the window ledge at the front of the bus after I had to brake sharply. I have always refused to drive any service that has standing passengers. I would prefer an all belt law to be enforced. Where as most school day out services come with teachers, the school bus to and from school doesnt, and I have in my time exercise my right to turf one or two of the more objectionable kids off the bus and refuse to carry them.... One of the cases was the "That kid" who decided opening the back emergency door to set off the warning buzzer was a neat trick to wind up the driver. He was the one who objected most when I said he had to get off, "You cant do that you HAVE to take me home" I walked back to the front of the bus and announced "Look either he gets off or this bus stays here until he does." [Does it need to be stated I had stopped the bus by now?...] His former "Mates" turned on him and they threw him off, I did not object, we all got to carry on. I stopped doing school runs shortly after that, because those barely literate apes were annoying the [krud] outa me, and I didnt see why I had to take that kind of mass ill discipline on a daily basis, I requested a change of shift, and the duty manager agreed. The thing about seat belts?.. could I have enforced the seat belt law?.. how do you do that when half of them barely sat square on the seat anyway?.. three to a two person seat, some sat backwards, some sat upside down, look, I know its part of being a kid to challenge convention and "Who says we gotta do it that way", but a seat is a seat, whats wrong with using it the right way?.

I am going to challenge your reality and replace it with one of my own... so watch out, you know how crazy some of this may get?... {and if it brings a smile on this day, "Black Friday" as its being called, when everyone else is rushing about trying to compete physically for "Bargains" the never knew they wanted, well, my work here is done.} "Some say" that matter can not be created or destroyed, ... Hmph. They dont know the heart of a Sun like what I do then?. In a sun, it burns Hydrogen, and makes Helium, and then all the way through the periodic table, it creates new matter from changing Hydrogen into "something else" until it gets to Iron. Somewhere in there , all that churning is changing matter into pure energy, which creates light, and radio-active particles, and all the rest. All the pure matter in the universe is created in the heart of a sun. It starts with Hydrogen and goes onwards. Iron is a star killer. Once it gets that, it can pore as much energy as it wants into it, it aint going nowhere else, just makes gravity stronger, and will collapse the star to a dwarf, and Carbon. Once the star collapses, and goes all super-nova on you all, it explodes all that matter, Gold, platinum, carbon, diamonds and all, "out" into space as a dust cloud, that eventually all drifts together and creates a new "solar system" and surrounding planets. As the planets form, the heavier particles squish together again under heavy gravity, energy, heat, and pressure, and some of the lighter particles may indeed inside the core of a planet "change" one to another or combine to make rocks etc. Some more than others, but, it is true, all matter originated in the heart of a sun... Therefore, if I call you Sunshine, I aint that far off, because, you, me, everyone here, anyone who ever reads this, and anyone who may not, we are all made of Star Dust from some long past Supernova event?... So next time you feel a little off, just remember, you are indeed made from the heart of a sun. ESM Note, Dragons are also made of star dust, its just our dust didnt have time to cool down when we took it from the oven, which is why we are still a little "warm" inside. Goldilocks and his pin-hammer got made of some very heavy elements indeed, which explains a lot... Loki got made out of some rather exotic elements that still havnt decided what shape they want to be,let alone what colour?.. does that need any further explanation?.. WSN and TUM got made of some very excitable elements that are wanting to change other things, Lex?.. dont know for sure, but I believe it will be called "Australium" when they discover what makes her tick, .... This is drifting off a bit so back to the subject at hand.Real estate, try asking those that live near a coast how real it is as year on year they get one house closer in the street to being a beach property as the coast crumbles around them?... Those living near a Volcano may see new land being created day on day, but depending on what side of the San-Andreas fault you are, or any othe3r geological active part of any fault line anywhere else on earth, you may have real land being "Pushed up" under your very feet, as one part of the fault is pushed up over the top of the other, or, cracks appear as other parts "drift apart", and as the next door house moves 12ft away from yours, who know owns that new bit of Garden?.. it may have a great hole in it right now, but the chimney pots are definitely further apart than yesterday, so who owns that space?.. We understand the idea of the terminology here in UK, we just dont use it like that. We call it "Estate", and estate agents are known as "Politicians in training", because that is where you learn to lie inside a truth, and they are a little below second-hand car traders here in UK, because Second Hand Car traders will tell you the REAL truth if you know how to ask. Estate Agents will not ever tell you the whole truth, and nothing but the truth... They live on "Flowering up" anything, so a house next to a rail line is "Extremely good for commuting", and one on a busy road is "Good transport links to anywhere" Take a house with dodgy window, "It has extremely good air conditioning" What you call real estate agents, we call "LIARS", because that is the exact translation of "Estate agent" Rat infested back yard?.. "Plenty of Wildlife in the area". So next time you are looking at real estate, just remember, it is what it is, and what it is, is pure Star Dust.... Now how much is that worth again?..

actually, the matter can neither be created nor destroyed saying has been upgraded into the atomic age with "It can occasionally be converted back and forth with energy"

On the other hand, SD's definition of the word "park" does explain why endangered animals that are supposed to be protected species are still going extinct, even though they're put into wild animal parks. They're pretty easy to catch and/or shoot if they're all standing still

We "Park" 'em in there for the public to stand and stare at 'em.

driving to the cottage today to make sure it was all okay and nothing was forgotten during the autumn. how many of you would drive our local roads? this is a "main" road from our city to a nearby village. goo.gl/photos/1RvncJiB2Uu5cT4m6and this is the road to the cottage, normally big enough to fit 2 cars in most places... goo.gl/photos/nZMVybqhxmwCiKjq9

This I think was taken either Exmore in Devon, or North York Moors, I sort of recognise the road, although it could have been many places, they all sort of meld into one after a time?.. I was driving around roads like that in 2013 winter doing Fuel deliveries to farms. [Edit, in inspection, it was Devon, quite likely Exmoor, but typical of many rural roads during heavy snow...]

And speaking of snow, we are supposed to get our first measurable snowfall today. I'm sure all the drivers who forgot how to drive in snow since last winter will be out testing their skills. Fortunately, I have no plans to leave the house today.

the cottage road is 40 km/h, the main road is 80, but you'd probally want to take corners around 60

this was a one-off snowstorm. it should be noted that the night before I had hung a bald-tired camaro off the back bumper and towed it a mile and a half to a parking area where the owner's friends could come fetch him.

We had a little blow of snow a few weeks back, nothing spectacular, I had to brush the roof of the car, but the snow on the ground was already melting.
Cant wait for "The big white", I have new tyres so will be getting to grips nicely and watch the rest of the world slide by...
