Posted by SageSigh on January 2, 2012, from DCI (Discovery Channel International) Mythbusters forums:
One of my children's Shakespearean acting teachers told me that during Shakespeare's time, human scent was used to confirm a written message, meaning that lover's would, after writing a love note, swipe it under their arms to apply their own scent. The recipient would know the letter was authentic based on the smell of the letter. Back then bathing was minimal. I wonder if the Mythbuster's team can distinguish each other's scents after a day or two without a shower. It might also be interesting to identify the bacteria from each person, and perhaps their chemical signature by mass spec.

Bwa! Ha ha ha! sorry rmc, it is just so funny that I was laughing for a long time. Laughter aside, it is a good myth to test. Very straightforward and sure to be entertaining.
This is much better than the post about Turtles breathing through their posterior. ;D

Another good one in the "eeew" category. Made me laugh too when I thought of Kari's reaction to the scent of Grant and Tori's week old pit stains
