Opiates versus Morphiates...
And they are, I know, of the same "Family", but, importantly, there is a division.
I need some advice on that division if you can?.
First result takes me here...
h??p://opium.com/derivatives/opiate-vs-opioid-whats-difference/, and yeah, I did disable this as a working link by putting ?? in the http, because I dunno how safe it is.
It does however educate me in the question..
Opiate vs. Opioid?
Yes there is a difference in how they work.
One is from the plant, one is synthetic,
I am looking for the blockers, the antagonists, and how they affect the system, and am getting mightily confused, because I aint a doc, and dont want to web-diagnose myself here, I am just trying to work alternatives, and try and work out, if thyey are all the same family, "How come", high dosage [prescription only] of Morphiates and codine send me dizzy whilst prescription opiates such as Tramadol just dont affect me in that way at all?.
Addiction.
Not worth discussion, as my addiction to being on a lower playing field of pain level is addictive, much more addictive to be able to walk other than addiction problems of being on the drug in the first place, and the reason I am here asking is I already know "Tolerance" issues and am trying to re-invent the wheel by finding an alternative here as the beneficial effects of Tramadol as an opioid analgesic are starting to work thinner as the years pass.
So the opioid's work on me, but the morphiates do not.
Along with 10% to 15% maybe as high as 20% of the population, not known exactly because there are not that many who need such high dosage, we all have an ability to process the UN-beneficial side-effects rather quickly.
So whats the difference.
This is the simple question I need answering, because, the more I find out, the more I find I didnt know, and I now know more about what I dont know than I know about the stuff I was confused about in the first place ..
Forty Two.
Now go and find the question you should have asked?.
I am starting to get the idea that Morphine is sourced "Direct" from the poppy plant.
I am starting to understand that the opioids that I may be taking are a synthetic derivative that have been designed to supply the desired pain relief, but, importantly, do hot have the "High" that pure morphine and codeine may supply when in high prescription dose?.
Am I on the right track here?.
And yes, I am trying to go as far as maybe understanding more than a general health practitioner may be happy to advise me.
Reason being, I want to ditch the tramadol, and want to find the holy grail of a non-addictive pain relief that can be prescribed that doesnt build up tolerance in me for long term use ...
And anything that keeps me out of a wheelchair is a bonus.
And they are, I know, of the same "Family", but, importantly, there is a division.

Yes there is a difference in how they work.
One is from the plant, one is synthetic,
Drugs that activate cell receptor sites are called agonists, while those that block cell receptor sites are known as antagonists. Not surprisingly, antagonist drugs play an important role in the drug treatment recovery process.
