(mods: feel free to move to the movie myths forum if you so wish.)
"Spree For All" was a 1946 animated short featuring comic strip character Snuffy Smith; it was long believed that all prints were destroyed at the request of the syndicate that owns the rights to the comic strip, but a somewhat deteriorated print with French subtitles - the video above - survived.
The premise of the film is that Snuffy, just back from WWII, intends to live out the rest of his life in the back woods. But minutes after he finishes building his home, a feud breaks out between two rival families... whose households are on hills overlooking the valley Snuffy's house sits in, meaning that Snuffy's in the line of fire.
Possible myths -
1. In one scene (about the 2:20 mark), a member of each family puts the barrels of their guns right up to each other, at which point they simultaneously pull the trigger. The guns discharge into each other and then backfire, leaving only the fused barrels and the shoes of their wielders remaining.
2. A second scene has Snuffy decide that the best way to end the fighting is with love. So he busts open a bottle of what is supposed to be high-end perfume right in the middle of everything. The smell wafts around enough to where it causes a member of each family to fall in love.
3. An elderly woman is shown playing four accordions at once... because the four have been connected to the rockers on her rocking chair, meaning that as she rocks two are squeezed while the other two are decompressed.
So... yay or nay on any of these?
