Well, it's half over. This evening we had dinner and gift exchange with the more distant family members. Tomorrow morning, the more immediate family members are coming over for a big country breakfast and then we will exchange and open more presents.

Someone decided to give me an early Christmas present in the form of a pre-paid debit card.
They neglected to tell me that they decided to be helpful and register it ahead of time... meaning that their personal information was loaded into the system run by the company who issued the card.
Most pre-paid cards don't require anyone to register to use them, so I cheerfully tried to use it to buy a DVD set online.
It was only when I got an e-mail saying that the card had been declined that I realized what was up.
I got the information changed on the company's website, but I have to wait until Wednesday for there to be a warm body at the retailer's customer help center to get the confusion cleared up.

I have decided to start the morning off with pumpkin muffins. my family meal happens with a late lunch, and I will have my response gear with me, because there is always the chance that someone will have an emergency during christmas.

Murphy's Law hit with hard here. There is a nasty strain of stomach flu going around and everyone in my house had gotten it, with me being the last, to get it last night. Needless to say, my Christmas is rotting in bed, running to the restroom every couple hours. My your Christmas be better than mine is and full of health.

Murphy's Law hit with hard here. There is a nasty strain of stomach flu going around and everyone in my house had gotten it, with me being the last, to get it last night. Needless to say, my Christmas is rotting in bed, running to the restroom every couple hours. My your Christmas be better than mine is and full of health. We had a Christmas like that about 15 years ago. Me, my wife and our two kids all came down with the flu on Christmas day. We all did manage to get out of bed for about an hour to celebrate Christmas and then all of us headed back to our respective beds for the rest of the day. |

That's bad luck, like Greg I had one of those a could of years ago lu have my sympathies. Well for me it's now all over just time to wind down, listen to the radio for a while and then go to sleep, Had one minor mistake had a couple too many G&Ts and forgot to switch on the new oven correctly, dinner was a couple of hours late but at least it wasn't burnt. |

Mom's having a bit of a freak-out right now.
The ASPCA has a habit of running *deliberately* shocking and sad commercials to provoke reaction, and mom's reaction is basically "run out of the room screaming until one of us changes the channel or turns the TV off".
Well, this year their "Christmas" advertisement is on a whole lot of channels.
It's been anything *but* silent around here...
