Bioware has released all of the Mass Effect series games in a single package. The last game in the series cause a major fuss over its pathetic ending, but leaving that aide is this package worth it?
Current retail price for the box set (PC version in the UK) is £34.99, this includes all three games plus some of the DLC. Good value you may think, until you realise that the DLC in question is the exact same DLC you'd get with each of the games if bought individually. Worse is that if you shop around you can pick up all three games individually for around £30.
Recommendation; Depending on which platform you are using this is really not worth the money. PC players will be able to get all three games and the same DLC bar one for ME1, for less than the cost of this package. X-Box players may find the package slightly cheaper, and PS3 players *may* at long last be able to play Mass Effect 1 - which was not originally released on the Playstation.

I loved ME1. Complex, well written story, innovative game play, and an involving universe.
I though ME2 was merely okay. I liked some of the mechanical improvements over ME1, but the story seamed rather lacking. It was your typical part 2 of 3. The were more focused on setting up prat 3 than telling a good story with that game.
I have yet to play ME3. 1. price. I refuse to ay more than $25 for a game. 2. Origin. I hate how EA keeps forcing their paranoid DRM systems that always seam to screw with the game. I got 1 and 2 though Steam so I wouldn't have to deal with EA's stupid DRM. I don't trust EA and Origin not to **** something up. Add to that everything with the ending and the disappointing story in ME2, finding a good deal on ME3 simply has not been a priority for me.

Personally I'd recommend that you don't get or play ME3. I loved the first two games, and played them to death. ME3's ending was so bad however that I just can't work up any interest to play any of the games again.
Dragon Age 2 was bad (and in terms of game play ME3 is not even remotely as disjointed or bad as that game) but at least it never put me off playing Dragon Age Origins - in fact I'm still playing that game now.
If you get ME3 expect to loose interest in the entire series, and loose whatever respect you once held for Bioware....

I enjoyed both ME1 & ME2 but didn't bother with ME3 after reading all of the reviews. I have seen people recommend that you just play up to just before the end, then stop and imagine your own ending to save disappointment.

A brutally honest, but very VERY funny trailer for Mass Effect;
Note that the following does contain spoilers...although if you haven't played the Mass Effect games by now you probably couldn't care less.

I played all 3 games, and they are still some of the best single player rpg's out there, even with 3's terrible ending.
Although, that says more about the market for single player rpg's then mass effect...
I really wish they would stop these "twitch, drink 3 jugs of coffee and mainline red bull" games.
